Finn isn't interesting, dude can just stay at the base sleeping and have the same impact he did in the movie.

I fuckin hated that casino part. Stupid SJW shit.
Makes even less sense when Chewie roasted a porg for a visual joke earlier in the film. Either animal cruelty is humorous of heinous, which is it? Find a thematic tone and stick to it for some plot consistency, please.the part that irks me most was when they ran out to that cliff-side with those llama-horses and finn says that nonsense "well i guess it was worth it, to break through that town and show them" and then rose takes the saddle off the last one and it runs away, then she says "now it was worth it".
I'm looking at the screen like "WTF?!" did you forget the whole reason why you even came here in the first place! The resistance is out there getting slaughtered while you're making animal cruelty your cause so none of that shitty dialogue and scene made sense....
They have to go out with a bangg for episode 9. The third movie is usually the biggest in a star wars flick. I want to see a big all out space battle and a large scale ground battle. The next one also has to take place years later . I don't careif its 10 years later there was 9year gap between episodes one and 2 by then rey would've had time to train , study those nooks and grow as a Jedi and kylo would be even more powerful.
They can omit this because rogue one, FA, and TLJ dis aerial/space combat well

The casino planet wasn’t a fun watch but was integral to the three film story because the actions there inspired the children/young force user.
May not have accomplished their intended goal but the force works in mysterious ways. Isn’t that what the nerds say?
You know how they could have done that without a boring and unneccessary B plot that contradicted some themes of the A Plot? Simply having "The force awaken" when new Padawan met her new master and they passed the lightsaber between each other. Have that connection of The Force echo across the galaxy, just as previous Sith have sensed a disturbance in The Force and then acted accordingly to convert or kill any potential Jedis as seen in episode 3 when Anakin slaughters the Jedi Academy. Remember how connecting to the lightsaber as a relic caused the Force flashback in TFA to the degree Rey heard Ben Kenobi call her by her name, which seemed like a pretty fucking big hint Kenobi knew her name if not gave it to her suggesting he is her father and if anything ties into the declaration "There is another" back in ROTJ assuming they didn't mean Leia or Ezra Bridger who has been retconned into past events via Rebels.
Also, where the fuck were Kylo's crew, the Knights Of Ren? He's potentially facing the return of Luke Skywalker and a trained Rey and a reenergised Resistance pissed he killed his dad, but dude relies on Phasma who went out like an idiot in the first movie in a fucking trash compactor instead of calling in any of his fellow former students with a grudge against their old master to the degree they sided and followed Kylo and Snoke instead?
The film was all over the place because Rian Johnson got to do what he wanted while the first movie had at least 3 major cooks in the kitchen trying to make the movie familiar but different, while Rian Johnson went for different hoping it might feel familiar. Felt less Star Wars and more Babylon 9.
How do you know when she was born? Nobody knows because we've not seen it happen and we don't have a confirmed time frame of the events between ROTJ and TFA.This movie may have failed to deliver , fallen short etc but one thing I'm glad it did was kill those stupid fanboy theories on who reys parents were. Kenobi? Gtfoh! He's old enough to be her great grandfather and he died 25 years before she was born. I don't care if her parents were nobodies I could accept that more than Kenobi ,palpetime or whoever being her father. Kenobi was a ghost watching her from this afterlife of course he would know her name.
They've done that before though with Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, The Thrawn Saga... I agree they should mine the wider universe for material as Rogue One was a change of pace and breath of fresh air by not having any Jedi or Sith as main characters, just showed how fucked and outgunned regular folks, even highly trained ones, were against the Empire. The one thing I do like about this new trilogy is that they're moving away from the Skywalker family. It was more powerful and better Jedi and Sith before that family came into the picture. The franchise doesn't need to keep revolving around them.

Ridley's said she won't re-sign which honestly to me seems stupid because she's not that talented or pretty to being trying to pull a power play like this and piss off Disney in the process if they had plans for her to be involved... she might end up being the next Lacey Chabert or Lee Lee Sobieski if she's not careful overestimating her standing in the biz. Even Evan Rachel Wood stopped fucking around when it was causing her career to come into question.I wonder what direction they are heading with the next trilogy, are they going to continue rey's story or are they going to do something new. maybe the trilogy will be about the old republic though I don't know much about it. I think stand alones and spin offs are the way to go. I saw art for a lego set for han solo movie that was leaked accidently. I think it will be a good movie. i'd like to see a boba fett solo film or a film about vader that takes place two or 3 years after episode 3 that shows him hunting down remaining jedi throughout the galaxy.
