I keep repeating myself but it seems to go over your head. Real life aint like the movies where the victim gets revenge on the abuser like j lo. I think
@BNE mentioned power dynamics in abusive relationships. In the dynamic the abuser is the dominant force and the sub is the abused, there's been plenty of studies that show the power that the dom has over the sub and the lengths that the sub will go to justify and downplay the abusive behavior of the dom. It's almost like the abused is under a spell and no amount of reasoning will get through to them until they're ready to see reality for what it is.
Now add that on top of the victim blaming and shoulda, woulda, coulda critics and you'll see how hard it is for victims to not only separate/protect themselves from the abuser but also come out and tell the world about the abuse.
