Dont remember which guy was it but one of the dirt sheet guys said internally look out for Priest to cash-in within the next 2 months. They dont want him carrying the case the closer we get to MITB 2024

Pepperman’s decision to leave WWE for AEW has been linked to her close relationship with the former Sasha Banks, who is expected to debut for AEW on March 13 at Big Business under her current ring name, Mercedes Moné.

So, what exactly does a Vice President of Content Development do in AEW besides work closely with Mercedes? According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, here’s how Pepperman fits into the AEW creative process:

“She’ll work under Tony Khan...One person [in] WWE noted to us at the time of her leaving, ‘The rumor is that she’s going to work for Sasha (Mone) as her exclusive writer.’ It appears she’ll be that and also work on the entire show. Pepperman will be working on all three shows...Pepperman will be heavily involved with the women’s storylines but also be involved in the men’s storylines. Her first day was Dynamite on 2/21. Tony Khan will be the booker but she’ll be added to the likes of Bryan Danielson, Sonjay Dutt, Jerry Lynn, Jimmy Jacobs, Will Washington and others in the creative inner circle. They are not changing how they are doing things and will not be scriptwriting promos for the most part. The idea is like it’s always been, give the talent bullet points and they can use their own words to make those points.”

That MITB expiration coming up soon after Mania, they gotta do something cause the clock ticking.

What if they actually had him hold it to the deadline due to JD accidentally botching all his cash in attempts. Or if they let him hold it down to the very last day of it being active and then he gets screwed over by Finn/JD. That's something we've never seen happen.

It'd also he a waste of the case tho

It's looking like there was no plan for him after winning the MITB, instead of booking him to be a dominant singles guy they put him in a tag team and being under Rhea in the group hierarchy isn't doing him any favors.

I think part of it is due to where the company was at that time. If I'm not mistaken Vince still had some say in things back then

Bro he was over as shit just last year back when they had him interacting w/ all the celebs like he was a big deal. Especially the pairing with Bad bunny

You see the problem here? The pairing is what got him hot there…I’m not saying he doesn’t posses shit to be hot but he needs the strong singles run to prove it. Which is why I said what I said, it helps him in the end build a strong and dominant singles run..while helping build two faces (Rhea and Dom) and ending the JD. These cats don’t need the group anymore.

Speaking of Rhea, what would you guys want more:

Rhea as champion would have regular opponents and defend her title on Raw /PLEs and not try to be the undisputed leader of judgement day and Priest would be the leader and establish himself as a top guy with the MITB briefcase or have things stand where they are now with her reign being questioned but now defending her title regularly and being know as the leader and Priest not being taken that seriously even with the MITB briefcase and trying to be the leader?

I asked because I like Rhea as a leader. I understand she should have probably defended her title more but I’ve enjoyed her playing the role as the leader of the group

This.

Yeah I'm not ones who wanna see the main title defended EVERY week. It takes away the prestige of the title itself imo. Cuz when it's time for the champion defends it on a ppv...for me it's just another match.

I like the build up. I like the storyline. I like the feud leading up to the championship match on a ppv. I think that's more important than the top title being defended on a weekly basis.

I wasnt watching but It also doesnt take rocket science to figure out Corbin had a trash run with the brief case too
also didnt Brock use his briefcase (which he basically hijacked in real life from Mustapha Ali) to beat Kofi???
Corbin was built right to me, after he failed to cash in is when his booking went to hell

He used the briefcase and won the universal title at extreme rules 2019 vs Seth Rollins

LOL at this nigga booking himself to win MITB
Cashing in and winning
Then losing a month later

Only to come back and be booked by Vince to snatch the other heavyweight title from Kofi all in a span of like 3 months

When we saw Kofi in the ring with new day on the last smackdown on USA before going to Fox, Brock came out and we knew Kofi’s reign as champ was ending that next week Friday lol

Yeah because she was injured and just started warming up. I feel it's still so much to do under this reign.

the only interesting feud left for rhea after becky is bianca. let’s say that takes place at summerslam. who is rhea gotta face the four months in between? she’s back in the same predicament she’s been in. the division isn’t THAT strong right now
