You say it's goalpost moving. I say it's the same standard across the board. Can another player come to the coach, say they want to take your spot, and get a "Ya, go for it" in return? That's a clear no for just about every position on just about every team. That's not the case for KR/PR though.
You think at any moment any other player let’s say a WR goes to the coach and ask to return a punt and they’ll let him simply because DeSean Jackson did it once a decade ago?

DJax just did it last week in the Giants game. And ya, I think other players do it too.

Because DeSean does anybody can do it? Got it.

I didn't say just anybody could do it. I do think a decent number of teams have a player that could do it though.

You're just arguing about nothing right now. Either you think the PR/KR's are the best the team has to offer, or you don't. If you don't, then you're acknowledging that they're allowing less talented players into that position. And that's what I've been saying since the beginning. That a lot of the time there's a less talented player in that position.

I brought up DJAX because he's a recent public example (a week ago), of a more talented player being on roster, but not in the role. Coaches recognized that and let him take it over when he wanted it.

You’re arguing that anyone can take over PR/KR duties by simply “asking”. First you said no one would put someone else in another players place who’s elite. You’ve now pivoted off that and is now saying that “I’m” saying that PR/KR is the best they have to offer.

Those are the best of the best of what the NFL has to offer. You're truly against elite players, doing what they're elite at. I don't think KR/PR is the same. They have lesser players in the position. Just like I don't think the coverage team is made up of the best defenders the NFL has to offer.

And you tried to disagree w/ me, that you wasn't shitting on the position.

What would you call the bold?........... :hahaha:

What are you talking about?

I keep saying the same thing, and you act like you don't read it or something. You accused me of saying it's not a position. I said it IS a position, I'm just criticizing the quality of the players in it. It's been that the whole time.

Go ahead and quote me what you're talking about because I think you're confused bruh.

If you tried to assemble the greatest players of all time onto two teams to play each other, you'd be foolish not to pick Devin Hester.

Unless you had a roster limit. Then you'd be foolish to pick him. Just current era players I'd rather have Patrick Peterson as my DB/ return man, than Hester as my WR/Return man (1 of probably many examples)

Yes. He's a touchdown maker. Peterson is not and he's an average return man

Look up Patrick Peterson's returns before he became an all-pro, then get back to me on which player you would rather have on your team. Peterson as a DB/returner or Hester as a WR/returner.

That's a complicated comparison though. DB and WR are two very different positions. It all depends on your team composition. Me personally, I'll have Hester on my team as a pure returner. As I argued before, the TDs are good, but Hester by himself can consistently give you superior starting position. That makes a big difference. Some games when he was the return man for CHI, the Bears were basically knocking on FG range at the start of every possession.

Hester b

He was the ultimate x factor

Even when he wasn't scoring he was setting up great field position as others have already said. He changed opponents kicking and punting strategies. Sometimes he changed how opposing coaches handled 4th down

He was a game changer who was a threat to tilt the field every time

If you're drafting a team and pick prime Hester over prime Patrick Peterson to put on your squad something is wrong with you.

What y’all doing in here

Y’all really saying y’all would rather have Hester as a Returner/WR than Peterson Returner/CB?

FYI Peterson was a all pro returner before he became to valuable as a CB
