What y’all doing in here

Y’all really saying y’all would rather have Hester as a Returner/WR than Peterson Returner/CB?

FYI Peterson was a all pro returner before he became to valuable as a CB

Thank you! It's the fuckin twilight zone in here, haha.

That's a complicated comparison though. DB and WR are two very different positions. It all depends on your team composition. Me personally, I'll have Hester on my team as a pure returner. As I argued before, the TDs are good, but Hester by himself can consistently give you superior starting position. That makes a big difference. Some games when he was the return man for CHI, the Bears were basically knocking on FG range at the start of every possession.

Make it AB, Julio, Calvin Johnson, Mike Evans, Michael Thomas, Megatron, Fitzgerald, Moss, TO, Marvin Harrison, etc. If you'd take Hester over any of them as your WR/KR you're fuckin up.

If ya'll would prefer Peterson over Hester, that's fine, but what you're arguing is illogical. Hester has the better career as a return man, so if all we wanted was a returner, it makes perfect sense to pick Hester. If you're limited to how many players you can pick, then yeah it becomes more of a discussion, but then it comes down to how your team looks. If I got a team with a strong defense, but it needs some help on the offensive end, I'm going to pick Hester over Peterson. That shouldn't be a controversial statement.

I don't even understand what you're arguing. No, I would not take Hester over some of t he greatest WRs ever, but why is that even a question? But you're basically comparing apples and oranges.

Without a roster limit it doesn't mean anything saying you'd put someone on your team though. Hester should never make a team with a roster limit.

That's where I disagree with you. I believe you can construct a team where Hester would fit in well. All that's beside the point though. That doesn't really answer the question of whether or not he should get into the HOF. There are plenty of players in the HOF that wouldn't make an all-time best team if you had a limit.

Yea. I’m on the side that returners shouldn’t get in u less they dominated on offense or defense.

You're picking up in the middle. I said all that because of this post.

If you tried to assemble the greatest players of all time onto two teams to play each other, you'd be foolish not to pick Devin Hester.

I see. Well, I get what you're saying. If you had enough slots that you could have a dedicated returner, then I'd agree with him. If your roster size was limited to the point that you had to make one of your other players do double duty, then I'd agree with you that there are other players that would be better choices. Still even in that case, you could make an argument for Hester. I mean if you got a team with Jerry Rice and Randy Moss on it. Your number 3 WR doesn't have to be great, so having someone like Hester who was a decent receiver and the best return man of all time wouldn't be crazy.

Naw you buggin

Hester changed the dynamics of the football game

it was already said earlier but in addition to the TDs...he also provided prime field position for his offense, changed 4th down strategies.

again his impact on the game of football cannot be denied and he is a HOF. Give him his respect

Punters does that more and kickers does that X100.

A returner can go games without doing a damn thing.

Yea. I’m leaning more to returners should get it.

Crazy that Hester can get into a place where Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders and Deion Sanders are.

He don’t belong with them dudes IMO

But Hester didn't go games without doing a damn thing. When he was a dedicated returner, he had a measurable impact on the offense's starting position. The bears went to the SB with a borderline trash offense largely because Hester was putting points on the board as a returner and giving the offense a fighting chance with superior field position.

Yes the hell he did. Every returner goes damn near half the season without doing things in games lol

and no. The bears went to the Super Bowl because of their defense and solid run game.

Just stop

So you’re going to put your best receiver/corner on return duty to increase his chances of getting hurt?
