Cutting your son's hair: Fair or foul?

Lol that’s stupid.

I think an involved father should have say so in a daughters hairstyles that are outside of everyday hairstyles like braids, getting a perm, hair blown out, etc.

but that has almost NEVER been the case. I've never once seen a woman consult the father of her daughter when it comes to hair-do's. That's why you have fathers' saying shit like "Ain't that hairdo too grown for her" after he's seen the end result.

As it relates to cutting a boy's hair: I had a "Jackson 5 in '75" worthy afro up to the 5th grade. My mom took me to see my aunt one day and had her cut my shit down to a lil mini fro, if you even want to call it that. Didn't consult with me, my father, or my stepfather on this. Lied to me about just getting my shit trimmed and shaped too.

Can’t relate.

yea.....i dont know bout this.

i took my daughter to the same hairdresser my wife went to.
i actually had her hair done most of the time. i never asked her mothers opinion.

sounds kinda f'ed up the more i think about it...

Kid has ultimate say over their hair imo. If the boy said he wanted it gone, it doesn't really matter if mum doesn't like it, it's not her head

Man, my daughter 16 months old and still bald as shit....

My wife better not fuck up her hair when it finally comes in

When my son's hair was grandparents kept threatening to cut it.... Like I don't threaten old people....

why is everyone ignoring the fact that they drew a new, reformed, hairline on the kid? his real hairline starts 2 inches back fr
I was going to explain this but I've gotten accused if not letting the jokes be jokes so I'ma just chill

I never said anything about cutting her hair now did I, I said men aren't asked about girls hairstyles when they're going to the beauty shop.

Good point.

I mean he should've given her a heads up...but that's his son too. So he has a right to get his son's hair cut.

Just like if she wanted to grow his hair out, then she needs to give his father a heads up.

I mean most parents nowadays are more open to letting their kids decide what hairstyle they want.

I have had long hair, curls, fades, etc from a child to now.

I grant my son that same freedom of expression.

He said he wants hair like me now so Im letting his hair grow. Didnt get his first cut till he was 3.
