Work Out, Get Fit Thread

(If im being redundant, excuse me...i havent kept up wit thread)

But i never realized how high impact running and jumping rope is until I developed a running routine...(picked it up running during covid and got more committed this year. i run 2 miles several times a week...im gonna up the distance soon, im just now getting into timing myself and trying to improve timing)

But the knee and feet pain started coming...i thought it was just aging, until i did some research and consulting and heard its apart the game! Luckily it subsided after I made some adjustments that kept it away for the most part

Along with being mindful of your running and jumping gait, invest in good socks and shoes. Thry both are important Put the bread up. They have running stores that put cameras on your feet and get you shoes based on that if you're that invested

And running is more cost intensive than i imagined...if you run regularly you'll run through some shoes like a mug...so be mindful lol
...Run

I took two weeks off from ball major pain is gone but I have pain...never had that..imma set up an ortho at some point have been continuing to jump rope..i do need some new kick though.. added the heavy rope back not 100 percent but it bearable.. ill have to really test it when i get a chance

How do other runners here feel about running watches? I’m curious because I ran with one for years but I ditched it a month ago and I’ve been enjoying running a lot more since. I was almost obsessed with checking my heart rate and pace during running and I was listening to my watch more than my body.

Obviously it is useful, especially if you need to track things and train with a very specific goal in mind. I only run for my physical and mental wellbeing. Since we already look at screens so much and our brains are flooded with information all the time, it feels freeing to go for run and just let my mind wander. I get really good ideas now during my runs.

Now I only run time and not distance. I run 30 minutes three times a week and one 60 minute run.

Man I just started working out again. Trying to get back in shape after my knee injury and I feel so fucking out of shape. Barely 10 minutes on the treadmill and felt like I was dying. I know it will get better but damn….guess that’s just age catching up with me

washed...

So I've been bullshittin' for a hot minute but decided this morning to pull out the p90x joints and run it. Picked the legs and back video to see how far I could get.

... I got 37 seconds into the warmup and had to sit my ass down. Legs outchea feelin like jello and shit. Quads threatened to lock up and cramp just trying to sit down and I'm breathing heavy and shit.

Nah, it ain't 'posta be this way. But... I'mm keep doing it a little at a time. Eventually I'll get used to it and be able to go further into the videos. Mad disgusted in myself over this shit.

I posted this before, but this is the single best leg workout I’ve found for when you don’t have access to weights

Been using it here and there since the pandemic started and it never gets easy

Don’t feel bad, P90X is on some other shit, 😂. Anybody that can get through a whole session non-stop should be hosting the videos.

Bruh, P90x's Plyometrics video, which is supposed to be the second video you run through, will murder your legs with the warmup. It felt like it took me foreeeeeeeeever to be able to get past that shit alone. The very first time I did it I could barely walk for almost a week, it's that rough.

When I was doing it consistently back in 2011 the only video I couldn't get through was Plyometrics. I worked myself up to where I could get through everything EXCEPT that one. For a while the ab video had me in serious pain too but eventually I got through it. Lost a grip of weight in the process too.
