The older I get the more silly the concept of "hell" gets

Like, am I on fire burnin for eternity?

Ok, that may be uncomfortable for the 1st few thousand yrs, but after a few million I'd get used to it

& what if I disobey the "devil", would he send to the... hellhole *rim crash* lol

Hell is just a separation from god. If god is “water”, “light” or “life” then Lucifer is hell (dry, absent of water), darkness and death.

It’s not a literal burning place of fire.

That's one of the things that got me when I was a kid. If God existed, why must the innocent suffer like that? Why be born only to suffer through starvation and shit and die before you reach 7-8 years old? What is the point in all of that? Why would a child be born with defects that his/her parents have no way of coping with?

The worst explanation? Because of “original sin”.

LMMAAAOOO

I really been on the fence about this shit since a teen

I was only made to go to church in the summers w/ my grandparents and that was only up til 4th grade maybe.

To answer the question I was baptized and made a "member" of a baptist church as a kid but I would say I really identify by that

I went to Catholic church sometimes too.....Get this, my grandparents were opposite....Pop went to his baptist church and Mom went to her Catholic church and they did this for 50+ years

my dad is a "jailhouse muslim"

started writing me letters in all arabic lookin shit and allah everything

he still "practices" this shit and goes to mosques and all that but still in the damn street smh

The bolded is me all the way. I believe in a higher power so I guess that makes me spiritual.

One look at this and I knew ain’t no such thing is God.

I think that thinking falls into that religious view of God

Religion personalizes God up to a point. But I think you keep going

For all we know God couldve just been a creator. With only power to create. Or we could really be misled into thinking its only one deity worth praying too.

My 3yr old hangs out w his grandma on weekends. She all about Jesus and is brainwashing him i think.

She knows that my older boy already said god isnt real so i think shes pushing jesus onto the younger one.

He randomly asked me to hold his hand then he closed his eyes and said "Father god thank you for all my toys."

:foh5:

I'm a Muslim

I grew up athiest, came to Allah in 2006, but started getting really serious about it in 2017

never heard of Omnism before seeing this thread.. interesting shit and seems to fall in line partially with how I felt towards religion..

I always thought it was silly how ALL religions claimed to be the one and ONLY way but yet all had similarities or have the same roots/origins

Just curious no judgements here. I assume most folks gonna be Christian but let's see. I identify as Gnostic personally and am just on a different type of time completely lol.

But are y'all truly tolerant of people of other beliefs are do they get the slight side eye depending on what it is?

What's your limit if any as far as someone's belief whether acquaintance, friend, or family before the 'cut off' is considered?

Is spouse/significant other required to have same belief?

Just an overall place to kick thoughts around on subject matter really.

Christian but not really. We didn’t do church like that we had bibles but I never read the whole thing. As I got older I learned about other religions and the Old Testament through some classes at community college so I got a lil bit from just a student view and not a church one. Realized a lot of religions have stark differences but a lot of stuff is more cultural than religious. Made me feel like God definitely exists even though I never had any doubt. But made me feel like nobody’s understanding is fully right or wrong. So I never became a person saying Jesus is fake or anything like that.

Christian (I know it gets heavily criticized). They are things I agree and don’t agree about it but no one is perfect. I just wish black Christians would use common sense in certain situations

What you getting at about common sense in certain instances, related to the church or what?

Yeah comparative religious and mythology studies is something I'm into heavy. I've personally found that most beliefs around planet overlap and connect like a web.
