Not exactly.

If you've accepted the criminal lifestyle and rules. If you get locked up for something you had nothing to do with and know who did it and tell the police who did it. YES you're a snitch.

If you are a person who doesn't accept the criminal lifestyle and you get arrested for something you didn't do and you tell the police who did it. NO you're not a snitch. That person is in a civilian.

Once you've accepted that life. It don't matter if you had something to do with it or not. If you tell the police you are a certified RAT.

The hypothetical is that he actually doesn't have anything to do with none of that so of course he should talk. Why spend all that time he's facing if he's innocent. You wouldn't talk?
