SEScoops.com is reporting Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, and famed wrestling talent agent Barry Bloom are all working together with the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shahid Khan, to finance a brand new wrestling promotion.
According to this report, a large majority of The Elite, namely Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Adam Page are on board for this project, which would start up in the next 12-16 months. It was also noted that when The Elite recently said they were sticking together, they were referencing this soon-to-be-unveiled promotion. Kenny Omega, current IWGP World Champion, and his status for this is said to be unclear at this time.
Jim Ross has reportedly turned down a WWE contract renewal, and he’s ‘sending out feelers’ to a few names on the WWE side, while Chris Jericho is said to be talking to names on the New Japan side of things. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon being backstage at SmackDown 1000 was a rare as he typically isn’t at the blue branded TV events as of late.
Instead, he’s usually back home or in the WWE offices on Tuesday after working Raw TV events. It should be noted that he still participates in SmackDown conference calls and oversees the script, and makes changes. However, he’s not backstage each week. This allows him to leave other people in charge of the shows that still follow his directions.
With SmackDown Live being moved to FOX starting in October 2019, it’s expected that the blue brand will become the #1 show for the company and likely see McMahon attend the shows mor

The Wrap is reporting that WWE is waiting on Turkey to announce details from its investigation on the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, which is expected to be today. Thus, this investigation will decide the fate of the Crown Jewel show. With the time zone difference, the decision won’t be made available until Wednesday. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan came out on Tuesday by stating that the killing of Khashoggi was planned and he called it a “brutal” murder.
It’s well known that WWE has come under some heat because of their relationship with the Saudi Arabian government after it was reported that the government ordered the murder of Khashoggi.
