Movie Night (Official Movie Discussion Thread)

Watched "searching" yesterday

s/O to @Maywood #gang

pretty good movie

That shit hit close to home. As a single father with a teenage daughter it freaked me out. She has her own little world of friends on social media that I don't know about and I had to make some changes.

Saw that they put

On Netflix. Rewatched it. Such a dope fucking movie.

Another bummer

I just watched some movie with dude in it and the shit wasn't good at all. Besides Gladiator I can't really remember a movie that dude had a leading role in that felt was good. The dude is just fucking weird.

River Phoenix in Stand By Me is better than his whole career.

I havent seen most his films. Reservation Road is a good low budget depressing movie.

Im Still Here was one the worst movies ive ever seen tho

Walk The Line the Johnny Cash biopic was super good. Phoenix played Cash in that.

Buffalo Soldiers
Signs
Hotel Rwanda
We Own The Night was decent

^^All movies should give him a chance on. Especially Walk the Line.

Around 2009 Joaqin started acting strange and did appearances saying that he was quitting acting and becoming a rapper. He made multiple appearances and totally weirded people out and they thought he went crazy or was on drugs. Really he was filming a Mockumentary called "I'm Still Here" and was just trolling folks. Should check that out too its pretty damn funny when you realize its all a joke.

Joaqin has some odd roles most definitely though, but i'd definitely recommend checking up the above movies if you want to see what dude is respected for.

I've seen those movies except for Buffalo Soldiers. They were pretty good. He just in too many movies I don't like when he is the lead.

Yeah i understand what you mean. He's one of those weird Artsy former drug addict type of actors haha. That buffalo Soldiers is a pretty cool movie. Joaqin is a soldier stationed in Germany that cooks heroin for a group of military police that sell it.

If I remember I'll try to check that out tonight or sometime this weekend.

Good looking out. I like that storyline

New Grinch movie sucks. I couldnt stay awake.

My 3yr old didnt even like it. He said he likes the old ones better bcuz the new one is crazy.
Agreed. Grinch wasn't mean enough. They really sucked the mean fun and humor out of it. Took it from Grandma's mac and cheese to box mac and cheese.

As perhaps someone who would consider themselves one of the biggest Coen Brothers fans in existence. and also someone who has seen all of their short stories and major films (with the exception of The Hudsucker Proxy), You had to know that I was overwhelmed with both excitement and anticipation when hearing they would soon release a western anthology film by the name of Ballad of Buster Scruggs on Netflix. Well, the release date has finally come. And it will now be getting my undivided attention

Watched it last night. I loved it especially after watching it after playing a shitload of red dead haha. It was late so I cant recall the last 2 stories too well. That monologue the bounty hunter did in the last story was fucking GOAT though. You could feel the eeriness as he performed it. When he finished I felt just like the other passengers haha.

3rd story was fucked up.

Loved all of them though. They kept me interested and almost always ended In an unexpected way.

I wouldn't say it was the coens best film, but It was definitely a fun watch and would recommend to anyone that's a fan of their movies.

Just saw they have a number of coen films on Netflix that I can barely remember like burn after reading so will probably be watching those all day.
