Yeah as long as the visual is kept at a PG level (titty mostly covered in case there are kids around) I don’t see why it would be an issue.

I’ve breastfed with children around, breasts showing. My concern wasn’t about anyone else, it was about my hungry child. The thing is, my child will know about breastfeeding so when she sees another mother nursing in public she will not be ignorant to it. I have huge breasts, so even when they’re covered they seem uncovered. I can’t care about that. Trust me, it isn’t easy because we are super nervous and scared of what people will say. HOWEVER, our babies come before our feelings and before anyone else’s.

We’re saying fuck them. If more people actually said “oh wow, look at that mother breastfeeding her baby kudos to her” and kept it moving, children wouldn’t even care. A child asked me what was I doing before and I said feeding my baby, he asked if she was drinking milk and I said yes. He said “oh” and walked off. That’s just how simple it is, children could care less.

I posted before I read through the thread. Seems the main issue is that women want to have a special status where they are free from criticism from private citizens. I think Kandy summed it up perfectly: "Don't whip it out if you don't want to be stared at [or criticized]".

The mother's right to comfort does not magically negate everyone else's right to comfort.

What is weird though is that the people who seem to be against breastfeeding the most are often those pro-life, we-love-babies Christians. That's puzzling and hypocritical.

nah, it's not as puzzling as you might think. Those same people are extremely uptight sexually. Even the slightest hint of titty is enough to send them over the edge. They're the people that draft the "decency and morality" laws of this country. They're the reason anything even resembling public nudity is illegal.
