BLM activist co founder buys home for 1.4 million dollars

think I read somewhere that charities only have to use at least 10% of the donations towards what ever their cause is

the other 90%

:paid:

I was off a lil bit but some organizations still finesse

CharityWatch uses a letter-grade rating system that also looks at the percentage of overhead spent on programs, the cost of fundraising, and other measures of efficiency.

“Charities that are A-rated generally spend at least 75 percent or more on their programs, so more of your money goes to causes you want to support,” says Stephanie Kalivas, analyst at CharityWatch.

For example, CharityWatch gave the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, which spent only 4 percent on its programs, an F, while the National Military Family Association, which spent 82 percent, received an A.

notice the police support charities got more bad rated ones than good

:hahaha:

I know. Like this situation looks funny as fuck. But as a general concept that just because you're out here leading people that automatically means you gotta be dirt broke makes no sense.

nobody is saying dirt broke but if you ever did any organizing work you know how hard it is to make a living.

again, i dont know any rich activist nor do they consider themselves “leading the people” folks out here trying to save lives

and saving Black lives = 0 profit majority of the time

I’ll agree that activists shouldn’t be poor, but wallowing in it is a little weird when the actual families of those victims aren’t seeing the bread.

However, that shit said about landlords is some BULLSHIT. Yeah, some of them are bad, but some landlords truly go the distance for their tenants.

I know it's hard for them to make a living and that's why it always stands out as funny looking when someone who is prominent within that circle comes up on some money and they haven't done anything to really earn it. Like if someone who is at the forefront of one of these movements did something like write a book, got paid for speaking engagements or something like that and bought a decent home from the profits off that I don't think most rational people would bat an eye. That's just an honest living. That's why this looks weird. People were questioning where alot of this money was going and were often met with "Just shut up and open your wallet"...and now we see where donating w/o questioning has led to
