Welcome To aBlackWeb

Fighting against Thanos should equal tons of growth. The guy had the power to kill half of life in the universe. This movie went backwards with the character. He already went through growing pains in Home Coming. Spider-Man 2 had him in college and a recognized hero.

What growing pains did he have in Homecoming that had him dealing w/ essentially being dead for 5 years, having his mentor die to save all of humanity, then having folks expect you to fill those same shoes at just 16.

:foh5:

If he still mopping around bout Tony and heistant bout being a leader in Spidey 3/4. Then you can complain about his lack of growth.

and waltermosely had a movie, devil in a blue dress, it was good

james paterson had several movies, and they range from good to bad,

anne rice as well...queen of the damned was two great books smushed into one okay movie with a congested plot and dope visuals... but it's still an anne rice movie

When people talk about Marvel movies, they are taking about movies made by Marvel Studios. This other movies you named were made by different studios. You can talk about them all you want, but what would be the point? It's not like anyone is walking around acting like Howard the Duck is a classic just because it's technically a Marvel movie.

So we have to wait til the 3rd or 4th movie to get a complete Spidey experience? Got ya. Raimi's Spidey got right into it and you know how I feel about those movies overrall. The problem started with making Pete a teen again instead of an adult as he was when he fought in Infinity War in the comics. I never liked that decision but at least the video game got it right. "Not ready for the responsibilty but jumped on a spaceship to go to anothet planet" lol come on bruh. The movie was forgetable.

That is the move of a 16 y/o who acts before he thinks. He wasn't leading the charge to go fight Thanos.

So you want him to have it all figured out in the first 30mins of the 1st movie.

There wouldn't be much room to grow if he had it all figured out. I don't expect Spidey to be a vet at 16.

Him jumping onto a spaceship unprepared is exactly what a naive kid would do. That's why we are here now story wise, that maybe the decisions he's made so far weren't exactly the smartest.

@VulcanRaven you're basically suggesting and expecting the same thing the people in his world are expecting of him and he's shown that he's not yet ready to carry that mantle. Happy had to tell him look it's ok to not be ready, shit you look up to Tony and he didn't have it all either.

That's growth, from wanting to just deal with the neighborhood

I wish they had done more to address the fallout from the return snap. The mentioned it in that high school news report but they showed very little of how they dealt with it. Was his whole class dusted? Or was "Brad" a grade schooler when it happened? They made jokes but they missed an opportunity here.

The romance plot wass alright although the triangle with the aforementioned "Brad" was unnecessary.

On a side note, Marisa Tomei is prolly finer than she's been for some time.

I really didn't like Mysterio here. Maybe it's because i already know who he is and spent the bulk of the movie waiting for the heel turn. But i didn't buy Gyllenhaal's performance at all. Didn't buy him as a good guy, didn't buy him as a villain.

As a good guy, everything he said SOUNDED like bullshit. His delivery was never convincing. Maybe that was intentional. Still bothersome.

As a villain, his delivery was even more unconvincing. His motivation was indeed trash.
"Tony Stark bastarized my life's work but he's dead so i'm gonna stage disasters, play hero and harass Stark's teenage protege so i can stage BIGGER disasters so that i can... be a hero?"

The illusions he played on Spider-Man were cool as shit. More of the movie should have been that. If anhything, that kinda stuff coulda been saved for another sequel, like an actual revenge plot where he's actually targeting Spider-man because he's... Spider-Man and not for his proximity to Iron Man.

1st 20 minutes or so were super boring. Once it did pick up it was great though. I liked Mysterio as a villain and agree he didn't have to die. Jake did a good job. They did a good job using the drones to create the illusion. Put it in a real world perspective.

His motivation was contrived, but it was a good tie in to other movies. And him blaming Peter for Tony's death was super fucked up! And the Iron Man zombie? Sheesh!

As far as Mysterio getting Edith, I think that was just a bonus once he figured out Peter had it. His plan wasn't centered around it, it just sped it up.

Peter is not supposed to have it all together. He's a teenager trying to figure shit out. Yes he fought an intergalactic war, but he was taking orders from others the entire time. He didn't have to think and lead. Now everybody wants him to do that and be Stark to top it off.

I do wish he was more of a shit talker like in comics and cartoons. Garfield played that aspect perfectly. And I'm not digging this morbid, depressed MJ. Hopefully she gets more personality later.

Overall, great follow up to the first and they played the fallout from End Game well.

I know all that but at 35 I don't want to see a teenage Spider-Man. They should have jumped to age 19-20 at least like Spider-Man 2. I have an issue with their depiction of Spidey period as I said. They should have went with a veteran Spider-Man. Fat boy be getting on my nerves too lol. Where the fuck is Harry in these movies? That Flash is trash too. Lets be real. This growing pains shit is just not interesting. It just adds filler to the movies. Like someone else said, shit was boring til he finally got into action. The movie is flawed and yall acting like it isn't. As a big fan I want better.

Maria Hill and Fury were Skrulls, this movie was boring to me though, you never felt Spiderman was in

any real danger, and these were his weakest villains on film to date, the fact that Molten Man and Hydro

Man were "illusions" was dumb. The special effects were cool but this was a really boring Spidey

movie to me.

Yeah I don't really understand the "Spidey wasn't in any real danger comment."

Sure in the final battle, he basically figured it all out and was good for the most part, but he got his ass beat in his first match against Mysterio. He seemed to be way closer to death then than any point against the Vulture.

Saw it earlier great movie

Liked Jake as mysterio and I KNEW he was gonna wind up the villian (obviously) even with that BS multiverse story. Lol I was smh as soon as Peter gave him Edith because I was like here we go...

The whole MJ plot wasn't too bad to me only because it was necessary for his character. JB smoove was trash in this movie lol I think it was the writing though but hey

Obviously the best part were the illusion scenes and I was like wow this was amazingly done. Kicked Peter's ass without breaking a sweat.

Also when Peter used his spidey sense at the end which led up to him dodging the bullet to the head was great. Again Jake was great as mysterio but Tom holland's growth through these movies from civil war is wonderful to see and happy watching him work like Tony on the jet was a part I enjoyed also it made me look forward to how he he'll be in Spiderman 3

I'd give this a 8.5/10 or maybe a 9

Also great two post credit scenes. Are people gonna care that Beck said Spiderman killed him? Unless internationally it becomes a problem since I'm sure people died in London. Maybe kraven hunts Peter for it in the next one along with scorpion and vulture

He already been to space and another planet. He past ready.

He fough in an avengers battle royal also. These niggas just making excuses and moving goal poazt. After infinity war and 2nd game and his 1st solo movie he shouldn't be so green. He was taking out mobsters and bank robbers on his own 6 months before he met sta4k. He has enough exoerience.

First of all, spell check nigga.

Second y'all niggas acting like he took Thanos out himself. He got a few knocks in before Thanos choke slammed his ass in IW and in Endgame he just played keep away w/ the Infinity Gauntlet. Hell he really didn't defeat Vulture in Homecoming either, the Chitauri energy core did.

He's green fighting advance opponents on his own cuz there not fuckn mobsters and bank robbers.

Exactly! And he was directed what to do every step. Niggas act like the truck driver can run a trucking business cause he drove cross country a couple times.

Peter is dumb the fuck down drastically and y’all know it.

The MCU should be renamed to Ironman and the rest of Marvel.

Spider-Man is a top 5 favorite character of mine across all platforms so I feel like they kinda doing him a disservice.

He created a brand new suit with new electric web shooters to create a chain reaction to take out drones. All during a plane ride from Prague to London.

Then he took a drone core and created a Thor like explosive hammer.

Then he used the shockwave weapon of a drone as a springboard to get to Mysterio.

Not to mention he geeked out about the multiverse theory.

How was he dumbed down again?
