FEATURED "Speaker" Dee-1 Calls Out Jim Jones, Rick Ross and Other Rappers

test
It's Entertainment. Violence on film predates hip hop by a century

The same Hypocrites criticizing hip hop love the John Wick franchise

Never really liked this comparison. Actors don't try to mix the art with the person. Keanu isn't going by John Wick. Keanu isn't in interviews pretending to be anything like John Wick. Film clearly separates the art from the artist. Rap does not.

Can’t flex on them argh!

My thing is folks who hate rappers like sexy redd and cardi b for all the destructive thot images don’t always keeps same energy with the violent rap. The folks who keeps the same energy for both do exist but I feel like they just listen to what they like. But Rick getting in his feeling and bringing up turkeys don’t really mean much. Dude didn’t say they were bad people lol

We are LITERALLY doing that right now.

What you lying for?

There are literal studies that show movies have an affect on people
We're influenced by whatever our minds allow us to be influenced by. That varies person to person.

Content all across the board needs a fix up but as it pertains to black people in general rap has had a largely negative influence for 30+ years now.

Movies and video games don't affect the black community as much as the white community. IMHO.

Quit playing dumb. This was in this same thread.
I'm not playing dumb

I just sat here and said earlier in the thread that Hollywood isn't pounding it's chest over keeping it real/being authentic

Rappers, by and large have built followings over keeping it real/being authentic

How old does a nigga like Jim Jones have to be before YOU are like, ok man, he too old for this shit?

When it’s anything non black it’s whatever. But the black genre is the problem. It does more damage simply because it’s black. Why can’t this logic apply to rap music? Y’all sounding like Fox News cacs.
