OPINION Would “parity”die in the NFL if we eliminated the draft?

We're seeing the Browns and Titans turn around finally. Some teams are great at drafting and free agency while some suck

You had to feel good for Browns fans last season. Finally won a playoff game

Chargers could end up becoming good again. Herbert looks like a beast

Again I get that. Y’all missing the point which is teams shouldn’t automatically be given rights to players. What have they done to earn them?

He likely wouldn't go for a team that's good at QB. Probably one that looks good but still needs a QB
Agree

My larger point was is teams won't just be able to dump veterans trying to be cheap, which the naysayers in here think will happen if they got to choose where they wanted to go

Buffalo
Miami
Baltimore
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Cincinnati
Indianapolis
Tennessee
Kansas City
Las Vegas
La chargers
Dallas
Philly
Green bay
Minnesota
Tampa
Arizona
Seattle
La Rams

I think are teams with established starters in place. So who’s left?

New England
NY Jets
Houston
Jacksonville
Denver
Washington
NY Giants
Chicago
Detroit
New Orleans
Atlanta
San Francisco

From the options available he’s probably go elsewhere but who knows? He won’t be given the option.
Dolphins have an established starter? When is Ben retiring? Colts are testing out Wentz. No idea about Raiders. Eagles are letting Hurts have the year but he's definitely not locked for the future plus they're a mess all over

Okay then add them to the possible teams pile. Look at all the options Lawrence would have.

You have to factor in which teams would ditch their current guy for Lawrence. Miami isn’t completely sold on Tua, Philly would move off Hurts if they could get Lawrence. Raiders too.

Probably not

But let's say he wanted to go to Seattle. Seattle not just gonna dump Wilson with the cap hit they would take. They could certainly sign him to take over someday but they wouldn't be able to just cut bait with him with no penalty.
Of course not. Seattle is set. But what if the Steelers are interested? The Patriots?

EXACTLY. Maximized earning potential.
He's already set to make a killing. His first big contract will likely end up being over $200M

What about players that wouldn't interest a bidding war? They could get screwed over because they don't take a certain contract that another player would

That’s a decision they gotta make.
