Those laws only protect you if you react right then and there. If your child comes home and tells you something and you go out and kill said person there is an extremely high probablinity that you going to prison. Even though if I was on the jury I would vote not guilty even if you was smiling for the camera as you did it.

Most niggas who claim to share that belief aren't actually ready to handle the results of said actions...and you just proved my point in the first part of your response. On an actual jury you're more likely to get sympathy for defending your child in the manner you described vs stabbing somebody because they cut in front of you in line at Burger King and you got mad because "ain't nobody about to disrespect me".

I see both sides of it, but I tend to fall on that one. Your first instinct as a parent is not only to protect your child/ren but to immediately stomp out any thing that causes them pain, anguish, fear etc...however you do also have to remember that as their parent your main goal is to prepare them for life so making a snap judgement that then removes you from their lives, and potentially places them in more danger, would be detrimental as well.
