Black Thoughts got more hits Melle Mel and that nigga in your top 5.:foh5:

Melle Mel got White Lines and the Messege

Whats Black Thoughts hits?

Not only does he have The Message and White Lines, but he was the first rapper to win a grammy for I Feel For You - Chaka Khan feat Melle Mel.

He was also featured in Beat Street.

And Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 were the first rap group inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Melle Mel >>> Black Thought

If you ask Black Thought he'll probably tell you that he grew up listening to Melle Mel

Wrong he wasn't the first rapper to win a grammy Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince was.

Wrong again Melle Mel didn't win a grammy for I Feel For You

He was also featured in Beat Street.

Dope emcee. But he's lacking something. Similar to Killa Mike. Can out rap niggas, but doesn't make better music than some of those same niggas.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to prove. Melle Mel won a grammy for his performance on Quincy Jones's Back On The Block, the same year that Fresh Prince won his Grammy, who you claim was the first rapper to win a Grammy. And if you really want to get technical, Melle Mel was the first rapper, and he won a Grammy.

Chaka Khan's I Feel For You won The Best Vocal Performance, Female. Melle Mel opened the song with a 12 bar verse and he also spits in the middle of the song. There is no version of the song without Melle Mel.

Using the transitive property; a=b and b=c then a=c means that Melle Mel performed on a song that won a Grammy, thus Melle Mel won a Grammy. The song wouldn't be the same without Melle Mel.

Unless you can find a version of the song that Chaka Khan recorded without Melle Mel I stand by my original statement.

transitive property? You are truly one retarded muthafucka.

Ppl confusing their favorite tracks for actual "hits"

And to be honest the only reason You Got Me got so much play was for Badu singing the hook.

A song can be dope and not a hit. They are not the same

Oh word, it was all Erykah? Cuz she was a feature on some singles before & after You Got Me, guess which charted higher and it's not even close?
