So again...because you sample summin’ means that you listening to it like that hunh?! Every rap song sampled is because people are constantly listening to that song that’s being at that time hunh?! This what we doing today?? Truuuuuuu Lmao hahahahaha

Are you implying that Ice Cube, & Puff Daddy didn't think The Message beat was hot, and didn't think that it would be a good beat to rap over?

Are you implying that The Dogg Pound didn't think the chorus to New York New York was hot?

You said "but I also know by tha late 80’s early 90’s wasn’t nobody going backing bumping him regularly."

How, or why, would Ice Cube, The Dogg Pound and Puff Daddy sample The Message and New York New York without bumping them and deciding that they wanted to rap over those beats and use the chorus?

Are you saying that Cube, The Dogg Pound and Puff Daddy sampled those songs, but they didn't listen to them before they walked in the studio?

Who goes to a studio and raps over a song they've never heard?

You think Pete Rock was just riding round bumping Tom Scott? :foh5:

Or he threw some shit on it caught his ear and decided to sample it.

Pete Rock chopped it up and added drums.

Ice Cube just looped The Message and didn't change anything. Apparently Cube thought the beat was fine the way it was and there was no need to add anything.

lol Dave didn't have that nigga rap

This whats wrong with rap fans

Lack of respek for the OGs

Revolver came onto a Black Thought thread, saw some valid critiques, and reverted to dissing a hip hop pioneer for no reason other than an attempt to big up Black Thought.

I dont even rank Melle over Black but disrespect will not be tolerated.

:readyforwar:

I amired your tenacity and refusal to accept the L bestowed upon thee

Bottom Line; The Message is the absolute greatest rap song of all time. You can agree or disagree, but you can't name one song by Black Thought/The Roots that is the absolute greatest rap song of all time. You can't.

And if you think you can name a Black Thought/Roots song that is the absolute greatest rap song of all time, I'll wait.
