Tory Lanez Sentenced to 10 Years for 2020 Shooting of Megan Thee Stallion

ok and all this is true but these are gender norms that we made and we enforce. It’s other men who judge harshly for this they be the judges and cops. The same judges an cops who think a boy getting molested by a grown woman is school. It comes from the same source. Toxic masculinity
This is a discussion that needs to be had.

Men's suicide rate is high af cuz we are expected to act like robots with no feelings.

Some chicks online really believe that men don't have feelings and should be confident at all times.

How do you get that confidence when you basically being called a loser or incel for not getting pussy which in term would make the men more aggressive in their hunt for pussy.

Don't matter if you 13 and the teacher is 28, you'll get called a homo or pussy for not smashing if she wants it.

Luckily I kept real ones next to me that supported whenever a chick did me wrong or broke up with me on some foul shit.

Most dudes would prolly clown and sayy "aah she played you" "she smashed the homies"

Women don't operate like that and actually support each other and their mental health. More openly now with social media.

Since we were kids everything has been brushed off as "be a man" when you're faced with hardships.

Me not growing up with a father had a messed up childhood with no guidance, don't nobody prepare you for that shit.

Someone need to make that thread and discuss men's mental health.

What's your solution to toxic masculinity? What do you think causes it?

the “this is how you be a man” thing and saying shit like men aren’t emotional(ABW proves that wrong daily) saying we can’t cry or complain. Thinking we gotta smash everything and shit like that. All that needs to be examined

this is something i talk about often.

i hate when people call dudes weak for not being like a certain stereotype.

take them OF dudes. people clowned them dudes all day for paying for images....but no one says shit about how hard it is to get at some chicks and not all dudes are built like that.....and now we adding more pressure on someone to be "normal" because its obviously something wrong with "them" dudes.

we as men need support and guidance and some of us need re-educatiing. we often dont have many people to turn too and must push on thru everything. and if we fail at something we clowned and if we succeed at something we must keep it up or we somehow failed.

we are told to be tough but when disrespected and we respond or act tough.....wrong again.

i really dont like the toxic shit some of us must live up to. but then we try to look at dudes like tory as toxic. we kinda made dudes like him if we being honest. because he lost either way. but on the flip side....chicks can be toxic aswell be being empowered by dudes who will do anything for them even when wrong.

both should be checked for toxic behaviors. yet sometimes its not. we cant make the rules then be mad when someone becomes a product of the rules or lack thereof.

I would love to figure out how we can do better jobs at raising young black men. The reason I say young black men and not women.....is because like @Busta Carmichael said ....women have each other for support. look around your city at how many programs cater to women and young black women and girls. How many cater to raising a young black boy or young man?

we all gotta do our part. i would love to hear solutions because shit like this doesnt have to happen.

two different types of emotional....but i get your point.

well the thing is their are healthy ways to deal with bad emotions but a lot of times people aren’t shown healthy ways to deal with anything and it’s part of a pattern
i actually agree with this....

everything doesnt have to lead into a fight and a fights needs a loser and its ok to lose.

but we cant lose nowadays. especially if its recorded.

but disrespect sometimes comes into to play.

some people either
1. dont know how to communicate effectively,
2. lack emotional intelligence or
3. refuse to self regulate

yes, some people wasnt taught these things but we as a society often promote the very things we say we dont like.

kinda like the thread about the guy who had the bat and got ko'd out.. most people said dude shoulda got his face bashed in. ok fine.
then the thread where people were ok with two young girls beating to older women, one with her face busted open and bleed.....still ok, fine.
we had a thread about a dude getting his ass beat by his pregnant gf.....still fine right?
but now we have a problem with this.

sometimes it doesnt make sense.
ok ..we can say, he had a gun, hes a male, yadda yadda.......how can we want violence and be ok with violence but then try to pick and choose when its too far?

How would y'all react in this situation?

All the females in the comments are calling him puss for not fighting back and saying its OK in this situation

He still would be the aggressor if he just slapped her.

Nah he wouldn't be the aggressor at all.

I don't think it's that difficult. When people talk about violence against women they not talkin' about every single instance of man harmin' a woman

The more yall talk, the more similarly I see with Chris Brown and Rhianna. It took years, being virtually black balled, and legal convictions later before the public would even entertain the idea that Rhianna was not a victim in that car, but an active participant and possibly the instigator.

Deflecting to the point of "Yeah but what about the gun" excuses what led up to that point. You don't have to approve of one thing in order to condemn another.

We keep pretending that everytime a black woman is hit, shot, stabbed, or called out of her name, she was just floating innocently on a cloud awhen some monster arose from the depths of hell to attack her... this is why violence and disrespect of the black woman continues. We only want to hold some people accountable and ignore the wrongdoings of others.

Dude... there's something seriously wrong with you. Let me find out you're stockpiling weapons and working on a manifesto.

I think this is something men struggle with the most. the fact that we reinforce the very things that are often bad for us. Niggas will actively and proudly boast about not having emotions, about not feeling shit. Yet will also say nobody is there when they need them and get mad. You cant have it both ways yet too many try to

This gotta be an idiot of the week candidate post

I remember back in middle school this kid got jumped by 3 girls, two of them were much bigger than him.

Everyone clowned him until he was on the brink of suicide I think, even the teachers.

Saw someone bring that shit up on Facebook laughing not too long ago. 20 years later.

It has nothing to do with strength. It has to do with gender norms and how society is.

Nicki stabbed up Safaree and everyone laughed, amber heard cut off J.depp finger, no one made a sound.

Its a damn deadly weapon, nothing to do with strength at all. But if it was reverse?

Even arguing with a chick makes you look weak. Men are supposed to be strong, masculine leaders and that's why we can't argue with women or hit back, or cry, or show feelings.

Its toxic.
There is a future conversation needed to discuss the lines and levels of masculinity and vulnerability. I hope we have all the serious abw posters in it because it's a complex subject matter.
