Kelly's claim says that a woman was firing into the car but the evidence disputes that. No shots were fired in or towards the car.
Add the fact that Meg has a PR machine behind her, so it makes sense to see journalists frame things to curry favor

There's an article that actually came out today with that Milagro woman flat out saying "Not everything I post is meant to be taken as fact" in reference to being asked about her previously posting things saying Meg wasn't shot at all. And I think that's the crux of the journalists issue. Too many blogs are posting either incomplete or outright false information that goes viral, then they delete it, but by then the lie already spread. It's similar to the reaction journalists had during the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial when blogs and youtube people were being called out for their comments too.

That's how bloggers be some times. They have no "journalistic integrity" cause they ain't journalists.
They should be citing "allegedly" and "according to" or "rumor..." etc, but in some instances the post is so salacious that the lie is more entertaining than the truth, and you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube once it's out!

Drunk. Drunk is the answer to everything. You're trying to find logic in the actions of a bunch of drunk people.
But not attempting to find logic in the narrative that two women were violently fighting according to an eyewitness and for some reason in the middle of this Tory gets out of the car and lets off shots at Meg WITH the intent to harm her.
