I saw the video this was a horrible idea that was meant to be funny that they filmed. I personally don't think any malice was intentionaly made when they decided to film this goofy shit BUT this should've never been made. It's a horrible idea, horrible comedy, and horrible parenting.

The whole thing is pitiful at best. Niggas said hey let's make a skit about Uncle Pedophile and shop around to YouTube bruh WTF.

This is why I'm confused by the outrage at the idea of the video. I cannot speak on what may have occured before, between, and after filming, but as a culture we have been laughing about pedophilia for a very long time. Chris Rock has a hilarious bit on how most people have a predator in their own family, who is accepted with caution, lol. Comedy isn't always some predator using the platform to be a predator, but rather to highlight dark issues we somehow ignore despite how horrible they are.

Both are performances, you are criticizing the format and delivery. It does not necessarily make them monsters for being bad at comedy or some not finding it funny. They have "kids" fucking on CW shows enough that it should be uncomfortable for people, yet it gets a pass because superhero shows are hot right now. We should investigate the claims against Spears/Haddish around the skit, but the skit itself doesn't have to be evidence of their claims that these two are pedophiles.

The point is that we sell this content all day every day under the guise of storytelling and entertainment, yet only think the content is suspect when someone claims foul play. That is an odd double standard. People here are saying Spears/Haddish are guilty based on their choice of comedy style, which makes no sense because we aren't doing the same thing with the rest of entertainment.

As said, you can investigate the claims, but don't pretend the comedy skit is all the evidence you need.

In no way am I defending pedophilia, and if you think I am, you are proving my point about how easy people jump into groupthink without much consideration. I'm criticizing anyone that thinks judging someone else's idea of comedy as just cause to label them a predator. In that case we have to take a fine tooth comb through every performer's work to see if they were too good or suspect in their performance.

I don't like people thinking they can judge others over what they find funny. We laugh at horrible things, it does not make us horrible people.

I can respect your personal limits. With them I assume you try to have more control over your space and the people around you, so that you don't encounter unintentional disrespect.

Personally though, I have no line when it comes to comedy and don't believe there should be one. Like all entertainment, it is subjective. I understand limits being placed on television, but don't agree with those same limits extending into the Internet. The Internet needs to be the once space that is unsanctioned and ungoverned by a consensus.
