The Official Gardening Thread

Just had a look at the small blueberry and raspberry plants, the leaves have gone abit brown and wilting and the soil is still mad wet... Not watered them for a few days either so Im worried I originally overwatered them and the mulch has stopped them drying (and also the pots being too big for their size)...

So Ive just repotted them with fresh soil, no mulch and in smaller pots... Hopefully they dry out and spring back to life...

Has anyone else had to do this???

never heard of a pot being too big. Was it not draining or did you have alot of stuff in the soil keeping the moisture in?

I hadnt either, just saw a random comment on YouTube so its probably fiction!!! lol I did repot them in smaller pots though...

When I originally potted with 2inches of bark mulch, I drenched them.... then a day or 2 later drenched them again and now its looking abit ropey and the soil is still mad moist...

Its supposed to be really sunny tomorrow, so hopefully it will dry out and spark abit of life into them, once it dries out I'll add the bark again and just be mindful of overwatering... Just hope its not too game over for them!!!

I do find watering fckn hard though, like trying to balance over/under watering fruit and veg is a nightmare!!! Im so worried about killing my tomatoes!!! lol

My gojiberry got mildew again grrrrrr, loads of white spots and that over the leaves, decided I dont wanna risk the loganberry getting it off it again and fckn all my new fruitbushes too so Ive chopped it down and gave up...

Im gonna replace it with blackcurrent bush (when theyre back in stock) to place it as a climbing fruit... Also just ordered Mulberry Mojo 'Matsunaga' bush too... Looks tasty and doenst grow too big...

Finally noticed a little fruit on my honeyberry this year!!! So random the way it developed overnight, didnt notice any little flowers or budding like on blueberry or raspberry it just appeared... Be interesting to see how they taste, I'll have to Google when to pick...

Also my blueberry plants developed some yellowing and browning on the leaves, Googled it and could be lack of iron??? So I added some iron sulphate powder to the soil, first time adding anything like that hope it works or at worst doesnt effect the fruit..
