I thought about dehydrating the basil first and then adding the salt to it but I just took the fresh basil and put the milling blade on my nutribullet joint and ground up all the basil first. Put the salt in and grinded it some more then dried them both together.

I think If I dried the basil first then ground everything up together I mightve been able to get it finer that how I have it now tho. Might try that next time and see which way I like better. Now that it's dry I could grind it again but I dont mind coarse salt. Dont need much

How to did you dry it??? You didnt dehydrate it in the end??? I got basil plant that needs to be picked soon as its getting abit tall, I was gonna put it some leaves in a freezer until I use them but Im gonna try your idea...

I like quite coarse too on things like steak and chips...

I did something similar to this

I dont have a food processor though I just have a lil nutribullet with a milling blade but it worked similarly. Could probably use a knife and dice/chop it up finely just as well. I didnt use the oven either I used my dehydrator at the lowest setting 95°F/35°C for about 12 hours

Wicked cheers man... I dont have processor either, Ive got nutribullet type thing too... Im looking forward to giving this a go...

Ive been holding off picking the kale as the stalks are no where near as thick as the videos and pics Ive seen online... I think its because Ive over crowded the Trug and they obviously cant grow thick stalks, it was the same last year but I didnt realise how thick the stalks are suppose to get...

So think Im just gonna pick it as the leaves are still huge and good looking and make sure to not over crowd in the future...

do you think it might be the variety of Kale you have might just have thin stalks?

I thought that too but I had a Google it seems both the varieties should have the thicker stalks... Its very overcrowded in there so like they are all pushing eachother over... I should prolly grown them one by one and transferred them or just placed the seeds in the Trug alot more spaced out... Another learning curve I guess... The kale looks good though so I'll pick it tomorrow for the Fathers Day Sunday dinner... I'll try some making some of the kale chips too...

Ah damn that sucks. You can try a little experiment. I havent tried with a pepper before but it may work.

Take a cutting of the pepper plant and place it in some water. Make sure to change the water every couple of days and you may start to see some roots forming. Once you see the roots you can replant that in the soil.

I'm trying to do that now with one of my battered tomato plants..

It might work it might not.. worth a try!

Almost a week later I was about to give up on this experiment but I took a closer look earlier today and spotted some roots sprouting

I thought it would have came from lower down on the stalk but it's further up. The plant I took this from wasnt doing so well which is probably why it took so long. Ima let the roots grow a bit more before I transplant into some soil.

@Tayboo did you try it? @DOS_patos how about you?

My one tomato plant ain’t acting right. He don’t need siblings not acting right

quick update.. so I had some wings last night(muhfuckin FLATS) and decided to try to make some bone meal to use for the garden instead of throwing the scraps out.

They say to boil them for some hours to soften the bones and make it easier to remove the meat and gristle.. I said fuck all that and put them in the pressure cooker for a little over an hour.

After that I rinsed them off and got any remaining meat or gristle off the bone. Then put them in the over for another hour. After that I put them in the grinder and came out with this bone meal. Ima keep doing it so I have a decent amount to use in my garden

I pruned my peach tree im gone have to look at some videos didn't take much off. It's definitely growing its getting height and some body. I think it's been 2 years in the ground and still nothing pruned a little dead weight off the tomato as well finally got 1.

@Inori what's the benefits of using the bone meal? I do my egg shells like that for the calcium and leave bigger chunks to deter critters from crawling and eating stuff

bonemeal has alot of calcium but more importantly phosphorus.

If you look at fertilizers you will prolly see something they have 3 numbers on the packaging like this

Those numbers represent the amount of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium).

Phosphorus is supposed to be really good for the roots and blooming/flowering of plants

Man one of my big tomato plants is really wilted and the leaves are mad dried for some reason, Im not sure why either... Its got some fruit on it too but Ive noticed it doesnt drink water as quick as the others, Im not sure if theres a reason it cant drink water as well as the others...

Its my biggest plant too!!!

Just picked my first loganberries, left some of them too long so had throw quite a few away, should get quite a few this summer...
