The Official DCU Thread

Watch all of them. Teen titans Judas contract, suicide squad: hell to pay, batman :bad blood and justice league. Risks on two earths are the main movies you should see along with flashpoint.

Lol, believe it or not the Lego flash was crazy good...

It's like some how every DC property writes better screen play stories than the movie folk....

But geoff Johns gonna change all that

I forgot to mention justice league dark, batman:the killing joke batman & harley etc. I suggest you watch all of them even the ones going back to 2008 like batman: under the redhood, green lantern first flight ,the dark knight returns parts 1 and 2. The only ones i dont suggest are superman doomsday, and the other superman movie where he fights braniac for the bottle city of kandor that was boring . also!check out justice league gods and monsters and superman vs Shazam. There's so many of them we should make a list.

'Swamp Thing' TV Series in the Works for DC Universe from James Wan

Earlier today, DC Comics announced the first bit of information about its new DC Universe video streaming service -- and it didn't take long to add another title to it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Swamp Thing live-action TV series is officially in development for the service, with a script-to-series order. A piece of official promo art and a title card for the series can be found below.

The project will be co-written by Mark Verheiden (Daredevil, Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It), who would serve as showrunners if the series gets picked up. Aquaman director James Wan is set to executive produce, alongside Atomic Monster's Michael Clear, with Atomic Monster's Rob Hackett set to co-produce.

The official description for the series can be found below.

"When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all."

Swamp Thing, who was first introduced to DC Comics in the 1970s and 1980s, has had a weird history of making it into live action. Most notably, Wes Craven wrote and directed a 1982 live-action film about the character, which was followed by live-action and animated series in the 1990s.

Despite popping up in animated movies in recent years, there have been several attempts to bring Swamp Thing back into live-action, most notably in the Justice League Dark ensemble film. While the Justice League Dark film still has legs at Warner Bros., there's no telling what this TV series could mean for Swamp Thing's role in that film. Swamp Thing also played a major role in Injustice 2 as a fan favorite character. A new TV show might just be what the character needs right now.

if they're being streamed on the service that counts as views, and helps their total earnings....yes it does

Nobody's going to subscribe to that shit, lol. People interested in DC that much would have already seen most of it. Yes they have quantity, but quantity of content will not make it successful.

Now the Disney streaming service, with all of the Marvel, Star Wars, and other Disney movies and TV shows, would be hugely successful.

bullshit, they have several active shows they're producing directly for the shit.....

not to mention their catalog of old stuff is crazy high quality

Batman animated series, young justice teen titans, justice league and justice league unlimited are all 5 star shows easily, and they got at the very least 30 more animated tv shows.

there's prolly a good 20 quality live actions series they've had over the years if not more

and they got at least 100 movies between animated and live action,,

they got the content, and they're going forward wit the shit....

i told yall the other day, wait till we get close and close to comic con.... by july, people gonna realize DC well prepared to fight back on all fronts

when they had the whole Batman animated series on amazon like a ear or so back i re watched that shit,.....i was binging that shit for like 2 weeks, and you immediately see the issues with on screen batman... the detective is gone.....

and you also realize how many great stories they got...

a dope ass live action batman movie with the manbat creature would fucking kill...

batman ain't always gotta beat up a bunch of people, just investigate some shit...less jason bourne, and more sherlock holmes

thats not what im asking you

let me clarify

with all the changes to a lot of these positions that you've mentioned

how will they impact the live action movies

THATS where they are losing the war

and by war, i mean strictly from a business standpoint

as a fan, i want both companies to prosper
