sooooooooooo wtf do they have (live action wise) from now until then??

marvel has dropped two movies, with one on the way for the summer...if you include Deadpool, thats 4 movies this year while DC is releasing just one? then at the end of the year?

Yeah. Thats always been the schedule for the last 3 years though for both marvel and DC. Flash was supposed to fill in the gap but different writers and directors have all dropped out. they currently have the dudes who did The Lego Movie and were the writers for Spiderman Homecoming directing flash. it was titled Flashpoint, but there are rumors that the Flash film may not be based off of that story anymore and theres a big chance that the title will be changed.

Nor should it. The first Flash movie should be an origin story while picking up where JL left off, while showing him coming into his own as a hero.

i was thinking more of Spider Homecoming

but you may have a point here

since he hasnt had a real movie (i aint talking about the shit from back in the day)...they could do a mixture of filling gaps while doing an origin via flashbacks
 
In response to king du they worked the detective angle in plenty Batman movies. First they did it in both Burton movies then the Nolan trilogy and bvs bruce Wayne even went undercover and went to an u dergroind fight just to get a lead . Only in justic3 league there wasn't much sleuthing from Batman. In these films they have to balance it out with action or they will lose the general audience
 
Last month a reliable source said that after the Steven Spielberg news, another big director was in talks to join the DC Extended Universe. Today, we may have the name of that big director.

TheOneRing.net says that The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson is currently thinking about what his next project will be. His choices? A Middle-earth series for Amazon or something in the DCEU.



Jackson would certainly fit the “big director” title that was rumored for DC. But it gets better. After this news broke late last night, @DanielRPK, the reliable source who told us a big director was in talks with DC, said that two more big names could follow.



Obviously this is all just rumor and speculation right now but if even some of it becomes true there will be good times ahead for the DC Extended Universe.
 
Damn, Peter Jackson can make some dope ass films if he is given enough time for it. He wasnt originally supposed to direct the Hobbit films but he ended up having to do it at the last minute as the original director dropped out and thats a major reason why they werent as well received as the original trilogy.

I wouldnt mind seeing Jackson direct a DC hero franchise at all. I just hope it is in the DCEU and not one of these "Elseworlds" type films that are popping up.
 
Shazam has wrapped production, entered Post production.

Patty Jenkins has said that Wonder Woman 2 Production will start "Shockingly soon"

Birds of Prey film is rumored to start production in early 2019. Sounds like Suicide Squad is rumored to start late 2019 due to Smith's schedule.
