The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

I’m not that familiar with the European soccer approach to this, but I know you’re right about the money side. If it’s not an issue there maybe it shouldn’t be one here, idk. America is just different though and it’s hard to change that.
America is different that's true. But usually on the opposite side of things ie: "I have a right to choose"

Yes we still have the right but with people's livelihoods threatened. Feels coercive. Other countries are more 'free' on this front.

Ironically this isn’t an issue in (European) Football cause there are no mandates…

and y’all that wanna hear but money, wealth and overal scale of European Football dwarves even the NBA. How come none of this is an issue in Europe where the big money and investments are at?

I get that for some folk, ‘The law is the law‘ and that one should follow it but the mandates are complete and utter nonsense
This country gives more to big pharma (paying for their drugs/treatments) than any other country and yet many of our dollars go to funding big pharma research.

Being we are the "free" country we seem to have more restrictions than countries that pay a fraction for the same treatment. It all makes sense. Big pharma gotta protect their money maker (america)

Kyrie is more then entitled to do what's he thinks is best for him. What him and others don't seem to get is that same mentality also extends to the Nets and they also need to do what's best for that team overall. And if he's taking a stance that doesn't allow for him to be a full member of the team then they also have to do what's best for the team and that would be him sitting out because thinking he can just pop up and play only away games without any real practice is foolish idc how talented he is. That's just gonna fuck up team chemistry and how they play.
Agreed. Nets ain't doing nothin wrong in my opinion.

BUT (imo)

If the mandates weren't in effect they probably would let the shit slide or work something flexible out..the mandates are the problem. They're in business to compete and be profitable. The laws stand between them and Kyrie, so they gotta do what they gotta do.

On that front....what Kyrie is doing is admirable if he sticks to his guns all the way through.

But that's a lot of money to give up and I don't see it lasting much longer unless he has something up his sleeve.

Shit bout to get real. He's gonna take a lot of heat with nothing to show for it and lose some at that. Tough spot he's in.

You're right. I said in another post that last season when there was no mandates nobody gave a fuck at all.

but get the booster and continue to play. I mean we gotta have some middle ground here.
If he does I'm not mad at him. But if they're worried about covid protection he already meets the criteria..one shot would surpass said criteria. Yet somehow where he stands now isn't good enough.

Makes no sense scientifically.

Is the "they" you're talking about the Nets? Or NYC who made the mandate.
