He had the number 2 ranked player, Travis Hunter, to commit to Jackson State because of him. Ranked players believed in this man's mission and as soon as the White folks came calling he bolts.
What you think that teaches these young Black men about Black people with social capital, about Black institutions? It teaches them that they are unreliable as fuck. So you think he gonna care about having Black institutions? No, fuck no.

If Deion Sanders went to coach at Jackson State, as a regular ass normal coach and not go on a media crusade, talking about how HBCUs can compete, that Black parents should trust their sons going to HBCUs and that they are gonna prepared for the pros, that would be different.
Deion Sanders told everyone that HBCUs are capable of competing with PWIs and that young Black men should forgo their own individual aspirations to get to the NFL, to take care of their family, to go to an HBCU.
That's a big fucking deal.
White coaches don't do shit like that. They don't tell you to sacrifice your ambitions for your fucking race.
An older, accomplished, NFL HOFer, one of the greatest athletes to every fucking exist in American history, is guaranteeing that he can make you a pro, that you don't gotta go to a PWI like he did...bolts after 3 seasons?
