So I am reading this shitty ass Roots profile on Nate Parker, and only thing I can think of is, "Why they are making it seem like being accused of rape and being acquitted is the same thing as being a rapist?"
I remember people being upset that he wasn't sympathetic or empathetic to his accuser and I'm thinking, "Why would any man feel bad about someone who they believe falsely accused them of rape?"
Now my son Nate Parker can't get his movies produced because he didn't feel bad for something that he didn't do. That's how bad present day so called left wing politics is, you gotta feel guilty about shit you didn't do. Got him volunteering at women's shelters and shit.

I've been outside in weather - temps before. Shit is crazy and it's even worse when the wind blows on those types of days. Funniest shit with cold weather now is seeing my dogs who love being outside even in the snow. I'm not sure how you get that feeling from the story. He basically admits that, even if what he did didn't rise to the level of rape, it was still fucked up. He's also been volunteering behind the scenes to make amends for what he clearly believes to be wrongdoing on his part.
I mean people do fucked up shit in relationships all the time.
Gaslight, lie, cheat...that doesn't make them a criminal. It doesn't even make them a necessarily a bad person, it makes them a normal crappy human being.
Only reason he felt like he did something wrong is because people threw it in his face.
He was going along just fine in his career until they heard he might win an Oscar for Birth of a Nation and sabotaged his shit because now people want "good" people to be rewarded for their greatness. So he was deemed a bad person just because he was accused and acquitted.
Probably the same people that cried when Kobe died when he actually admitted to raping his victim and paid her off so he wouldn't go to prison.

I don't see the point in speculating about it. At the end of the day, we have his own words. He doesn't think he did anything illegal, but he admits he was wrong. He isn't trying to rehab his image. Instead, he's trying to make amends. If a man sincerely believes he was wrong, I'm not sure why anyone else would try to cape for him.
