The 2020 Presidential Election Thread: Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States

This is such a bullshit article. Clyburn was always going to support Biden and everybody knew it.

Clyburn knew Democrats needed a signal to rally around Biden.
This time, Clyburn swore publicly that he would not endorse anyone until after the Feb. 25 debate in Charleston — but his friends say they knew where his heart was all along.
“He was always a Biden person.
He always had great respect and admiration for Joe Biden,” Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.), a former Congressional Black Caucus chairman, said Wednesday.

When they served in Congress together, Clyburn liked to appear alongside Biden, then a senator, on cable talk shows.

Sometimes uncomfortable Truths need to be said no matter if it falls on deaf ears.. whether people admit it or not it will sit with someone one no matter how much people delude themselves

“If only Bernie Sanders spent more time trying to curry favor with the beloved Establishment - the 7,500 different corporations, and media outlets, and consultants, and Political leaders, and caucuses, and staffers, and advisors, and Democratic Party Officials, and all the people that believe that the Democratic Party should serve the special interests of corporations at the expense of the people ...”

“The 8 layers of corporate political bureaucracy that obfuscates, manipulates and drowns out the people’s voice.”

“I am pretty sure that maybe they would potentially consider entertaining the idea of being more supportive of him ...”

“You know - Probably not... but there is a fractional chance that they might possibly give him the time of day”

But what about the voters? ...

What about the policies and the structural changes that actually affect their lives?

Should he devote his life to fighting for those?

“No no, don’t worry about that.”

“Just spend all of your time trying your hardest for decades to get in good, and cut backroom deals with Corporations and party elites and THEY will be the ones, of course, to grant you the money, power and prestige you are looking for .”

“It’s not the people‘s job to elect you, No No, it’s OUR job to anoint you“

“We know you’re not actually concerned about the people, anyway. What you really want is money and power!”

“You want what we have”

“So be a good boy and play by the rules and maybe just maybe we will let you into the club“

At the end of the day it’s politics and a politician has to play the game.

Shit even Trump plays the game. Bernie had since 2016 to make inroads and politik.

Either he didn’t do it or he failed. That’s translated so far in receiving fewer votes than Biden.*shrug*

It’s interesting that he’s now running ads with him standing with Obama. Where was this energy last year and the year before?

Some of this is true, but many are flatout missing the flipside of this. In 2016 Bernie got did dirty, and that left hard feelings amongst his supporters. THis time around......well, Imma ask people if they really think all this crowing I see on the news and social media is "uniting"? Bernie gets called out for not bringing on moderates, but are moderates even attempting to bring on progressives? All this dragging of his supporters is dumb, we need them in November. We needed them in 2018. But nope, for some reason people think Biden(who has shown shit all primary cycle) is gonna coast to the presidency, based on what again? Grassroots is with Bernie. All those exit polls showed the base agrees with him on policy. Biden is one brain freeze away from being Dukakis.

This is how you lose elections.

The party is banking on most progressives voting for whoever wins the nomination, on the idea that most people want to hear Trump.

If Bernie truly has a grassroots behind him, they didn’t show up on Tuesday.
