If not, why not?

I mean, if you're assuming her allegations are true.........and that it's that person's time to finally get what they deserve, then how are they ever going to be brought to justice if she's not willing to do any of those things?

I fully believe that there are women who were legitimately attacked and, as I said, I don't even have a problem that some of them my have opportunistic motives behind their timing. I just don't automatically take random people I don't know at their word. If you do, that's fine. I just think it's kinda stupid. It's not baseless paranoia when we all know for a fact that people lie all the time.

lol Bruh ya'll are legitimately making critiques that don't apply to what I'm saying. I didn't accuse this woman or any other woman of lying. I just said that the timing in cases like this will always look suspicious and it will always be questioned because people do actually lie.

That shouldn't be controversial and it shouldn't be something ya'll feel like you need to call out. No one's telling you not to believe her. No one's saying her claims shouldn't be investigated if that's what she wants. No one is saying the offender shouldn't be punished if he's actually guilty. So what's the problem here?

I was speaking more generally, not so much this case.

That said, your first sentence says it all. Most reasonable people want justice for people that were wronged. Not everyone wants to be part of a vendetta.

In this particular case, none of it really matters. As happens a lot on this site and forums in general, the discussion has grown to be more about the concept behind what happened than the actual case.

I believe her motives were originally brought up because Joe Brown is running for office and TC believes that it's possible she's only bringing it up to hurt his chances of being elected. He doesn't have to be arrested to be affected by an allegation.

I don't know if that's true or not. My point was just that its silly to dismiss the question of timing knowing that the American system is dirty and that people have and continue to employ tactics like that.

I think part of the reason is some just don't believe those explanations. At least, not entirely. Like I said before, it's not even just about women. That question is pretty much asked anytime someone drops a bombshell just when someone else is being offered an opportunity. It always comes off looking suspect, and ya'll are being disingenuous if you're acting like foul shit like that isn't done in this country all the time for less than noble reasons. I'm not even talking about with women. Pretty much anyone in politics knows that if they got dirt in their past, it could become the subject of a hit piece.

Women can explain why they held back, and maybe in a lot of cases, they are telling the truth, but to some people it will always ring hollow.

At the bold...those are the people who are looking for any reason not to believe women regardless of what evidence is put forward regardless of timing. They just use timing as a convenient excuse.

That's probably true. I just believe a healthy amount of skepticism is warranted in every case. I want women victims to get justice, but I don't want innocent men to be railroaded. If you just believe one side or the other without asking any reasonable questions, you're going to wind up hurting one side in your effort to help the other.

Nobody wants anyone innocent to be railroaded but there is something to be said if a person consistently finds themselves always doubting the accuser in these instances. That's usually not skepticism but more so outright disbelief. I'd also say the reason behind a person's skepticism matters too

If by "doubting the accuser" you mean consistently believing that the woman is lying, I agree with you.
