put your disdain for religion aside for a bit.. it’s truly a bad comparison.

if someone found breaking their addiction through music or sports, would it make sense for anyone to say “one addiction for another” - implying that it’s a bad thing? that would be a stupid comparison.

we know the life drugs bring; lying, thievery, broken families, hurt families, extremely bad for the health of the user, disease, death etc.

you’re telling me that current Christianity is the same? Nope.

that’s NOT to say there isn’t groups out there that are harmful to Christianity and give it a bad name… for example, the thought of “they just want your money, they just want you to support their lifestyle”

this is only true for the mega churches. do you know the outreaches the MAJORITY of Christian churches (and others) actually do?

my brothers church is pretty big.. they do constant outreach for the community; school drives, food drives, paying people’s bills and rent, giving places to stay, offering classes and schooling, offering rehab and counseling.

my church is going to Haiti in a few weeks… going out there not only for the gospel purposes, but to help with building, food and care… and it’s extremely dangerous as ppl like that become targets.. so it’s not just a “meh” thing.

we also do Saturday food box delivery to those in need once a month, plus socks and clothing, blankets etc

we also do a thanksgiving giveaway. No one from our churchreceives anything. We all go out, buy a whole thanksgiving dinner and we give it to all families that come out. We give them a big dinner, a small message and hand them their meals for their families

we have cookouts all the time and any homeless that come by, we give them a whole meal to enjoy. Anything they want. They need a shirt? They’ll get a church shirt. Etc

so you can tell me how being a drug addict compares to being a Christian.
 
Good for him. I’m not the most religious person but I’m not gonna knock him for going to religion to beat his addiction. That’s wonderful in my books. Wonderful he has a support system and a family. I hope he stays clean this time.
 
A large majority of ppl in my church have their money in order, none of them are in debt, all of them own their homes, have other properties, always giving and willing, always serving, have their own businesses etc…

A majority of Christians have their stuff together and take care of themselves very well. Not to say that nonChristians don’t, but the broad brush of Christians are “bad and evil” is very false.

The same broad brush could be painted to ANY group based off of “bad shit”. and u know this.
 
We help those in the church but the majority of the help actually goes out to those outside the church on a consistent month to month basis.. every year.

smae wthe other churches around here..all the Calvary chapels (which we are a sister church to) all do the same thing and these guys are big churches… not mega but big.

our church is probably 125 ppl… we have a fairly small church. but we just expanded our building. So we are expecting to grow

But of course i dont have a issue w ppl doin good deeds.

My issue is the motivation. Yall believe sum dude is up in the sky judging n watching yall. imo in most cases ppl are only doing that stuff cuz they believe god will reward them 100x over.

Of course thats not EVERY person. But the general consensus is "do good now, get rewarded later"

Yall being tricked or baited into doing good. When it should jus be a natural response regardless of the later rewards.

But i guess it better than doin nuthin so ya know

wrong take. it’s not at all about “being good”, although it is characteristic of most Christians, it isn’t “all about being good for rewards”. you’ll see if you take some time to read the Bible that it’s not about works aka being good for God.

And you don’t need to be a Christian to “be good”, you’re correct by saying “we should all naturally be good”, and well, that would still fall into what the Bible says about being “created in the image of God” - we know morals because God created us to be like him in that sense. Where does that natural sense come from? why? how?

the problem is you have the wrong view of God… created in your opinion, not taken from the Bible.

what good is this complaining when you can help? have you ever looked into how, when and where you can help? instead of that smart device, Care to spendthat money helping a family? instead of a new car payment, care to travel and help sick kids?

Lol niggas really mad some dude found faith and got right then said the good deeds are not coming from a good place but a hope for reward. I mean I have some questions about faith and the nature of God or how active it is. But I don’t see anything negative with Orlando we all know religion doesn’t not make you perfect he can backslide.
