Official Wrestling News Thread

yea you gotta say this now that they done signed a indie talent..

As previously noted, WWE is in the process of revamping the NXT brand.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the story that WWE will no longer recruit or hire independent wrestlers is not 100% accurate. The belief is that WWE will still consider hiring independent wrestlers but the company is going to be shifting focus. Johnson explained the situation…

“We are told that while WWE is throwing a vastly larger net in terms of recruiting outside the indy scene moving forward, they are not opposed to hiring indy talents. There is a feeling that the company swung too far in one direction on the pendulum, so now they will swing in a different direction.”

Another source did confirm to Johnson that WWE is looking to hire larger athletes that the company can “mold like raw clay to become WWE stars.”

We've had a number of readers asked what happened during last night's match between Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax on Monday Night Raw.

PWInsider.com is told by several sources that it was exactly what it appeared to be - a match that went awry and led to some legitimate moments where real slaps and punches were lobbed after there was some sort of breakdown in communication. Briefly, there was a legitimate confrontation inside the ring.

By the end of the match, Jax and Flair were back on the same page and the finish went as originally booked.

For those who have asked, we are told there was no issue backstage after the match between the two.

Yesterday was one of the "longest" days in a long time for the WWE Creative team, according to several sources who reached out to PWInsider.com today.

PWInsider.com was told by several that Vince McMahon, extremely unhappy with the original plans for Monday Night Raw, "ripped up the script" several times, including the original plans and then the initial rewrite.

We are told that McMahon then began requesting new ideas, some of which we are told were good and others no so good, but rejected everything pitched to him before decreeing the new plans for last night's episode.

Until 6 PM EST, there was no official direction or plan for the episode.

One source who went through the process described it as "the loudest and angriest" they'd ever seen McMahon on a show day.

This why Raw is in the shape it's in, there isn't any long term booking and everything seem to be made on the fly. Can't have a good show when you're still writing it an hour before the program goes on the air

It's because Vince McMahon is literally Logan Roy from Succession in real life. Don't understand how this clown not voted out by the board or something.

Earlier in the week, PWInsider.com noted that as of 9/14, WWE NXT is slated to broadcast live every week. We have since confirmed that NXT will be airing live every week in October, including a planned "Halloween Havoc" episode. Next week's episode will be the final taped episode from several weeks back.

There is talk that the new "Von Wagoner" character that was recently trademarked by WWE could be for Cal Bloom, who worked a dark match at last week's Smackdown. That isn't 100% set in stone but that story has been making the rounds.

WWE filed for a trademark on the new NXT logo and color scheme on 8/27.

:wtf20::yikes1::Will:

NXT is dead, about to be Raw level bad if those two over it.

after next weeks taped show we'll see....

I aint gone believe it until it we start getting rematches every week, DQs for most the matches, single matches turning into tag matches after commercial breaks, etc..

the indi/Dexter wedding is straight outta the main roster playbook... but I like InDex thats the only reason i aint say anything
