Official Wrestling News Thread

As PWInsider.com broke over the weekend, Ricochet has given notice to WWE that he is exiting and will not be signing a new deal. We are told that the current plan is for Ricochet to make his final appearance tonight at the Raw taping and that he has no additional dates scheduled with the company. Unless they come to him with a new offer he can't refuse before his deal expires and he does a complete 180, his WWE run will likely be completed tonight.

In regard to rumors he was "up in the air", that is completely incorrect as numerous sources confirmed with us multiple times that he had given notice before we broke the story Saturday evening.

Ricochet owns his name as he used it prior to WWE and can take it anywhere he pleases.

For those who are asking about his fiance, Samantha Irvin, there is nothing to scuttlebutt or concern that she is exiting WWE. Her deal is independent of Ricochet's, obviously, but that didn't stop people on social media from putting 1 and 1 together to make 978.

An update on Chad Gable. PWInsider.com is under the belief that he is extremely close or has come to terms with WWE and will continue on with the company. So, while not a 100% confirmation, we are told everyone is working under the belief he is remaining.

For those asking about Natalya, one source described the situation as "getting done" but we haven't confirmed she has locked in a new deal yet. We are told that there was "some time" left.

The A&E ECW: Birth of Hardcore documentary will likely be based around interviews with Paul Heyman and others from ECW who remain in the WWE periphery. In asking around, we can confirm that Tommy Dreamer, Tod Gordon and Joey Styles were not contacted to do interviews for the 60 minute WWE Legends Biography episode and those would be the biggest names in terms of ECW insight outside WWE circles. Heyman and Bubba Ray Dudley were featured in the trailer.

As PWInsider.com broke, Ricochet has given notice he is leaving WWE and the plan was for him to be written off WWE TV last night.

However, there was talk yesterday that given there is still some time left on his contract and given the huge amount of attention he received when news of him exiting broke, that perhaps there may be one last match for him before he exits so that WWE can maximize the situation.

There was at least a creative pitch for him to potentially return in July for one more appearance - one would think a bout against Bron Breakker - but whether it happens remains to be seen.

So, yesterday was slated to be his final appearance but now, the idea was tossed out there for potentially one more appearance before his deal ends. As we noted yesterday, unless WWE comes to him with a new offer he can't refuse before his deal expires and he does a complete 180, the WWE run is coming to an end.
