Kill em With A Smile!!
There’s starting to be too many of these dirt sheet folks
Yea he gone
Bron about to murder RicoRicochet is very likely leaving WWE, and the company is preparing as if he is.
Fightul reported recently that Ricochet’s WWE deal was winding down, and there was heavy interest in outside companies globally. On June 8, PWInsider reported that Ricochet gave his notice to the company. While we can’t specifically confirm that, we’re told within WWE that there is a “high likelihood” that Ricochet leaves the company, and they expect him to land in AEW.
We’re told that creative measures have already been taken to write off Ricochet in the event that he does leave. Part of that was him dropping the WWE Speed Championship to Andrade at this past week’s Smackdown tapings. However, we were told by sources in WWE creative that there are already other pitches on the table to effectively write Ricochet off WWE TV if needed. We were told that among those includes a creative plan pitched for Raw that would see Bron Breakker take Ricochet out. As with all creative plans, they can and often are changed, particularly when reported about.
AEW staff and talent backstage this past week were talking about the possibility of Ricochet joining the company. We haven't heard that there had been official talks of the sort. Ricochet is still under contract with WWE, and we're told that nothing is an impossibility, but as of Friday, all indications were that he'd decided to leave the company.
In addition to AEW, we’re told that NJPW is expected to be interested in Ricochet as well.
We're working to confirm when Ricochet's contract is actually up, and will hopefully have an update.
Rico & Santos had a hell of a match in the Finals of the Wwe Smackdown world cup finals in 2022I also wouldn't say he is an amazing wrestler, he is an amazing athlete tho. He still got to level up in alot of areas to be considered all around like Ospreay did.
They did one of his best singles matches imo.Rico & Santos had a hell of a match in the Finals of the Wwe Smackdown world cup finals in 2022
I hear you, I want this to be a step forward for him as well. I just don't see how going to a different promotion and beating up your body just to have matches you either already had while in WWE or before WWE. He should just have WWE repackage him, maybe work TNA for a second, disappear and come back with something new.The massive focus on character is such a WWE-ism that I blame Vince for. Every other company in the world gives talent the grace to get over through the in-ring, it's why he worked so well in Lucha Underground. The nigga never had to speak.
WWE allows getting over through purely wrestling more now but Ricochet was hurt by 5 years of Vince booking and was never gonna get the chance to recover. Genuinely, Japan needs him. Doesn't have to speak, just go crazy in the ring. Build himself back up.
He's not gonna get any more over in WWE as it currently stands, even with repackaging, because the fans are the ones parroting the "can't talk" / "no character" vinceisms. No amount of shake-ups will remove that ceiling that's been placed on him in that company.I hear you, I want this to be a step forward for him as well. AEW would be the better option I think. NJPW's jr. division could benefit from his presence but it'll derail the pushes of their youngboys at the same time.AEW & NJPW imo are the 2 likely destinations. AEW moreso cuz he doesn't have to move out the country. I think his decision is mostly determined by his soon to be wife and their family. So I don't see him goin to NJPW as the permanent stay.
But I could be wrong
I don't agree with the idea that he can't get over in WWE. But I do think going elsewhere might ultimately improve his stock.
Rico going on a world tour and killing it can only help his standing, no matter where he ends up. He can flat out go and hopefully he does that and people get to see him at his best.
Oh and for God's sake maybe I'll finally see the Ali/Rico tag team I've been pushing lmao.
