Tldr: "it's a work business" - Steve Austin. "The smart fans are the easiest to work." - Raven.

Thought exercise. What was Roman gonna do before the "pivot"? He was going to win and prolong the title reign he's on. So when was he going to lose exactly?

What was the Rock going to do? He's set up to be the new evil boss character now. Was he gonna be some benevolent character before? Because telling the protagonist to fuck off in the 3rd act after they slayed the dragon in the 2nd act, doesn't exactly endear you to your audience. You don't think the multibillion dollar multimedia conglomerate has metrics that can tell them that? No one could predict that something so drastic and upsetting to their narrative would be ill-received? Not the literal movie star, not the CEO/movie star agent, none of their Hollywood writers (including their marvel writer that they are cribbing the whole story from). I mean we all got it and could see it coming but not the people who actually engineered the story we have all been following.

It's a work. The *Rock* is a *character*. He said these things on the Pat McAfee show, which is hosted by another *character* on the show you're watching. If you listen to the Rock prior to this heel turn his stated reason for not working Mania last year was not right. So battling for the head of the table wasn't right last year when Roman was terrorizing his family into civil war. But this year the story was right even though he hasn't actually done anything to provoke Rock into action?

Does no one remember how fans reacted to Cody challenging last year? They wanted Sami, they thought Cody was shoed-in at the last minute and that there wasn't enough story between him and Roman. But NOW after building it up for a whole year when people are desperate for it they just throw it all away and are supposed to be surprised when the fans don't react kindly?

Gee. Cody vs Roman was pretty much inevitable the whole year right? Pretty common complaint. But then! That all was threatened and the fans rallied around their chosen champion, I mean what response would they have preferred? That people be apathetic about Cody not following through with his mission statement? If they wanted Rock to take Cody's place, why didn't Rock speak at all when he came out to replace him? You got this huge narrative shift that is iffy at best, and the greatest talker in history at your disposal to make it more palatable, and instead he never sells this idea? The literal first time he spoke was calling fans crybabies and then turning heel. You don't think the Rock could have cut a babyface promo???

I feel like I'm ruining Christmas or something telling you all that Santa Clause isn't real. But guys. It's a fucking work. Just like everything else that goes on in front of the cameras. It's a carny business that hustled the world out of billions of dollars, the hall of Fame includes Donald Fucking Trump for Christ sakes... But hey, it's a show built on suspension of disbelief, so more power to every fan out there who thinks if they cheer just a little bit louder the hero will make the big comeback and save the day. Ya marks.

Sports Business Journal is reporting that WWE has signed a deal with Sazerac Brands’ Wheatley Vodka to become the "Official Vodka of WrestleMania XL", which would be the first spirits deal for the company. The deal will not just feature the brand at Wrestlemania but additional events later in the year.

As part of the deal, according to SBJ, "Wheatley will also be presenting sponsor of a yet-untitled, six-part content series on WWE social/digital channels featuring WrestleMania headliner Cody "The American Nightmare" Rhodes interviewing other WWE stars. A Wheately-branded tour bus will be in the series."

One of the most decorated wrestlers in history has joined All Elite Wrestling.

Kazuchika Okada officially joined AEW on the March 7 episode of AEW Dynamite, after leaving NJPW recently. Fightful Select has learned additional details on the signing, which we’re told wasn’t actually signed until fairly recently.

Okada is expected to be full-time with AEW, and is planning to relocate to the United States. We aren’t told if this was his idea or recommended by AEW, but he is expected to work a complete schedule. A Tokyo Sports article claimed that the deal was for three years, and roughly $4.5 million per year. We can confirm the deal is multi-year, but are still verifying the terms.

In addition, the decision to introduce Okada as a heel with the Elite, and for Kenny Omega to be kicked out in absence

WWE claims there were no talks between the two sides, though we can confirm with WWE sources that Okada had reached out to WWE talent while weighing his next move, and had considered the possibility in going to WWE. At one point, we’d even heard he’d showed renewed interest in possibly going back in January.

Fightful Select had reported that Okada was joining AEW and was expected in the fold by that episode.

We’re told that as things stand, there is no timetable on Kenny Omega’s potential return. The angle was to debut Okada, add to The Elite, and set the stage in the event of Omega’s return down the line.

Kevin Kelly, who had been with AEW since the launch of Collision in June 2023, is no longer listed on the promotion's website roster.

Over the weekend on his Twitter account, Kelly stated he had been "libeled" by Ian believed to perhaps be Ian Riccaboni, who had actually suggested Kelly to AEW management, so there's obviously a story there yet to be revealed if that is indeed the case.

Kelly also stated that that he was "pushed aside" when he asked why he was not being utilized more, describing himself as sitting "on the bench”

Cena is too far gone to come back for a heel run.

I say let him keep his baby face legacy and call it a day.

I feel like it's could happen eventually

It's more money and they damn sure not turning that down.

He already talking bout he not done after teasing a retirement. There's nothing else for him to do unless he turn heel or beat Ric Flairs record.

I mean he could be teasing a return to try and run it back with Solo at mania too but idk since Solo has been cooled off
