AEW CEO Tony Khan today announced a multi-year deal with Hall of Famer “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, who surprised fans in attendance and viewers at home during last Wednesday’s AEW: Dynamite show in Philadelphia, marking his historic return to TBS by appearing as Khan’s “special gift” for “The Icon” Sting.

Flair’s AEW debut comes on the heels of his longtime friend Sting’s impending retirement announcement, which will culminate with “The Icon’s” final match at AEW Revolution in 2024. Over the course of their 30-year history, Flair and Sting have shared incredible rivalries, momentous matches and a respected friendship.

Khan also announced that Flair’s Wooooo! Energy will become the exclusive energy drink of AEW. During AEW show dates, select host venues will carry the clean energy drink at concession stands for fans to enjoy. In addition, the beverage will be stocked in the wrestlers’ locker rooms, and will also be seen on the announcers’ desk during live broadcasts. Fans watching at home can experience Wooooo! Energy by ordering via woooooenergy.com

When they 1st struck the deal...wasn't it reported that VKM promised them consist 2 milli in ratings each week? Or did I misread that?

USA is starting to become the that one bf who continues to take his ex gf back after things go south with the other men she deals wit. That's their safety net.

That’s why I’m kinda shocked that Raw and NXT are leaving. Raw has been on USA 25 of the 30 years they have existed so no surprise that some WWE programming will remain on there

“...we analyzed the WWE renewal and we look at all of our sports portfolios in the same way… Based on the analysis, (from) an advertising point of view, we were not hitting the advertising numbers due to the audience of WWE to make the return for our return on investment to be above the levels that we would accept. But also, we didn’t attribute enough significant retransmission revenue to the WWE either. So it made sense for us to move on from them. They’ve been a great partner for many years. But just quite simply, we’re very disciplined and the R.O.I. didn’t meet our disciplined parameters so, we wish them luck and we’ve moved on from them.”
WWE SmackDown’s ratings on FOX have been impressive relative to the competition. Even so, Lochlan’s claim that “we were not hitting the advertising numbers due to the audience of WWE” seems to support the claims we’ve heard before about SmackDown’s lower ad rates due to the perception of WWE’s audience as being lower income or unlikely to spend money.

Update from earlier: Kairi Sane was added to the WWE roster internally today sometime after 2 PM this afternoon, PWInsider.com can now confirm.

There were rumors earlier today that Sane had been added, but PWInsider.com was told that at the time that was not correct. The same sources later informed us Sane was added to the roster this afternoon but has not yet been assigned to a roster.

All those washed up dudes all over the shows, there is no reason that in 2023 Edge, Christian, Sting, Jericho, Big Show and Billy Gunn should be in the top level programs

The WWE dropped the ball with Cody, they should have gave him the title at Mania. LA Knight the hot guy in the company now, he's the top baby face. Cody finishing the story isn't the thing the fans want to see right now it's Knight.
