Y’all see the news that AEW is banning mad moves and blading and shit?

I already posted it but here’s the gist of it and yes this definitely needed to happen:

The banned moves list includes unprotected chair shots to the head, strikes to the back of the head, blind moves backward into the turnbuckle (like the buckle bomb), spitting, and selling like one is having a seizure. Wrestlers are also prohibited from physical contact with the crowd, including taking food or drinks from the fans in attendance. Weapons and projectiles in the crowd are a no-no, as is bleeding in the audience.

The list of moves that require approval from above is much broader and includes things like:

  • Bumps on the ring apron or outside the ring
  • Any spot with tables/ladders/chairs
  • All variations of piledrivers, hurricanranas, and sit-down drivers
  • Using weapons and throwing objects
  • Choking with hands or weapons
  • High risk dives and top rope moves
  • Bleeding on purpose
  • Injury spots
  • Any spots or brawling in the crowd
  • Any spots involving non-wrestlers like referees and managers

There's been much speculation about Eric Young's status, and some of it is coming a lot clearer.

Young is rumored to appear at IMPACT Slammiversary, but had been under WWE contract since last year after leaving IMPACT. Last fall, he was approached by Triple H about returning to WWE in an in-ring only capacity, and signed with the company at the start of November 2022. However, he would ask for his release just a few months later.

Fightful Select has confirmed that Young asked for his release in April 2023, was granted it and finished out his 90-day no-compete clause just last week. We’re told by WWE sources that this request for release was right after the announcement of Endeavor’s deal with WWE, and this wasn’t a coincidence – Eric Young didn’t want to work with Vince McMahon after the Endeavor deal was announced and it was evident McMahon was back in the fold in an official capacity.

WWE sources confirmed to Fightful that Young had cited moral, creative and personal reasons as why he didn’t want to work with Vince McMahon. So far he’s the only talent we’ve confirmed asked for his release due to McMahon’s return. There were some creative plans for Eric Young scheduled for after WrestleMania that we’ve also learned about that we’re working to confirm.

We've reached out to Eric Young, but haven't heard back. We have heard that he's in town for tonight's IMPACT Slammiversary show.

Ian Riccaboni has signed on the dotted line with All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor.

Fightful Select has confirmed that Ian Riccaboni has signed a multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling. He’s served as the ROH play-by-play announcer, and will be working several AEW Collision dates this summer. He appeared on the July 15 show and received heavy praise both backstage and from fans for his performance.

Riccaboni was one of the last original ROH contracts to last through the acquisition and was brought aboard. We’re told that Riccaboni was actually originally offered the role to do AEW Collision full-time, but cited prioritizing family as a reason he didn’t want to do it full-time, and recommended Kevin Kelly for the spot.

Riccaboni will call the next four episodes of AEW Collision, and will also spell both Kevin Kelly and Excalibur when they need time off. He’s primarily been calling ROH shows remotely.
