Wilder is the most unskilled of them all I think fury and Ortiz are the most skilled Joshua is 3rd amongst them

I can give you Ortiz but I'd still but Joshua over Fury skill wise. Fury is probably quicker in the mind in how he processes things in ring than Joshua.

Malignaggi: I Thought Joshua Was a Level Above Ruiz, I Was Wrong

The new IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion caused one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history on Saturday night at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where he stunned Joshua to stop him in the seventh round.

A rematch clause is likely to be exercised for a date in November or December – when Joshua had already planned to again fight in the event of victory – but where his unsuccessful United States debut had been intended to continue building his profile, it is where he remains undefeated that the rematch is likely to be staged.

Joshua’s previous fight had been at Wembley Stadium but its lack of a roof and the UK winter is likely to rule out a return there. The roof at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium therefore makes a third fight there probable, as is a return to an indoor arena such as London’s O2.

Joshua ruled out the prospect of accepting a rebuilding fight before pursuing an immediate rematch, and the 29-year-old said: “Look out for the end of the year, and what’s next."

Former two division champion Paulie Malignaggi, who was ringside and commentating for Sky Sports, was shocked at the outcome but expected Ruiz to be a tougher opponent than people expected.

“He’d had been on the Mexican Olympic team in 2008, on the national team, and he was a kid who’d had a solid foundation in boxing… you could tell that with his calm demeanor inside the ring even in a pressure situation," Malignaggi said.

“But having said all that, I did not expect Andy to win the fight. I didn’t think it was a one-sided fight or a blowout like people made it out to be before, but I felt people were looking at Andy and basically judging him based on his figure, and people were judging him based on his nice guy attitude and they really weren’t giving him a chance.

“I wasn’t really thinking to that degree, ‘OK, this is a joke of a fight’, but I did think Ruiz is a quality guy, but I didn’t think he would have enough to beat Joshua, I though Joshua was a level above. Obviously I was wrong, and it was an incredible thing to see in person,” Malignaggi added.

Andy Ruiz Would Love a Joshua Rematch in Mexico

New heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr hopes his potential rematch with Anthony Joshua can take place in Mexico.

Ruiz sensationally claimed the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO belts from Joshua on Saturday, dropping him four times in a thrilling bout at Madison Square Garden.

The Briton confirmed in the aftermath that he wished to exercise a rematch clause in his contract, with promoter Eddie Hearn suggesting the next meeting will be back in the United Kingdom.

But California-born Ruiz would welcome the chance to face Joshua in Mexico, where his parents are from.

"I'd love to do the rematch, but first I've got to talk to my team," he said, as reported by Sky Sports. "We'll go from there and figure things out.

"I'd love to be in Mexico. There's never been a heavyweight champion in Mexico, so I'd love to have a rematch there.

"I'm still pinching myself that this is true, all that hard work and dedication, I've made my dreams come true. We've been working for this my whole life, it's overwhelming and I'm just excited."

More than likely the fight is going to take place in a UK stadium, and many have mentioned Wembley as the frontrunner. Joshua filled in 90,000 fans at the venue for his 2017 win over Wladimir Klitschko.

Buster Douglas: Andy Ruiz Went Out There & Did The Impossible

Andy Ruiz Jr stunned the boxing world with his victory over Anthony Joshua and his success in the ring is set to land him a sweet bonus.

The heavyweight has made no secret of his love for a Snickers chocolate bar - he has a picture of one as his cover photo on Twitter and also used the hashtag #snickerspower in the build-up to the heavyweight fight in New York.

"It gives me energy, it gives me everything I need to do to win," Ruiz said at a press conference, with promoter Eddie Hearn joking the 29-year-old deserves an endorsement deal from the manufacturers.

Well, the unusual pre-fight snack worked a treat at Madison Square Garden, as the underdog climbed off the canvas to stop Joshua and claim the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO titles on Saturday.

Snickers, made by American company Mars, tweeted out their congratulations to the winner in the aftermath, though they did not stop at just a few nice words on social media.

"Congrats again on the upset @Andy_destroyer1! Victory is sweet, but so is the package we are sending you," Snickers tweeted.

Quoting the original message, Ruiz wrote in reply: "Send me a dm please. Let's go snickers!!"

Ruiz - a late replacement for Jarrell Miller - was knocked down in the third round but recovered to drop Joshua four times in total, with the bout stopped in the seventh round.

The knockout ending was compared to shocker from 1990, which many regard and the biggest upset in boxing history, when Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson.

Douglas gave praise to Ruiz for his win.

"I think it was a great fight, man. It was a big upset. An upset is an upset. Ruiz came to fight, Andy came to get it and he got it. Despite all the obstacles that were laying there in front of him that were against him, that he had no chance of winning, and he went out there and did the impossible," Douglas told TMZ.

"The man believed in what he was doing. He believed in himself despite all the naysayers... It's a lot of similarities there [with my win over Tyson]. I'm just happy for him, and wish him all the best. It definitely takes me back. It's like I kinda relate to what they're going through, the emotion that they're feeling going into the fight. 'I'mma show them tonight!' I felt like running [after he won]!

The real Buster Douglas gives the Mexican Buster Douglas that co-sign...

There are reports out that Anthony Joshua was knocked out in sparring prior to Saturday's fight and may have suffered a concussion...

REVEALED: Fighter who KNOCKED OUT Anthony Joshua in sparring

World Boxing News can reveal the name of the fighter who knocked out Anthony Joshua in sparring prior to Andy Ruiz Jr. doing it for real.
Joshua was hurt badly in a training session, which visibly marked his face, and WBN has been informed the boxer in question was Joey Dawejko.

dawejko-lin.jpg

Esther Lin
Dawejko and Martin Bakole had been in camp with Joshua in the build-up to what was the Briton’s United States debut.

It’s understood Dawejko put Joshua on the canvas hard when they traded blows. Something which may have had a profound effect on the ex-unified ruler mentally.

Father Robert wanted Joshua removed from the headlining fight on June 1. His calls were not subsequently acted upon.

In the post-fight ring melee after Ruiz had inflicted a horrendous loss on Joshua, Robert could be seen waving his finger and hurling abuse at promoter Eddie Hearn.

It’s fair to say, Robert didn’t want his son anywhere near Madison Square Garden that night.

Joshua was seen asking his dad to calm down and mouthing the words, ‘I’m the one fighting’ as Robert attempted to get his point across.

Suffering such a bad blow in camp must have been demoralizing for Joshua, coupled with the fact the 30 year-old was far from home.

AMERICAN NIGHTMARE
‘AJ’ had fought exclusively in his own country for the duration of his career. There are also some suggestions Joshua may not have fully been on board with an American adventure.

A Wembley clash was scrapped leading up to the New York battle, in which Ruiz dropped Joshua four times.

Furthermore, rounds three and seven were devastating for Joshua.

Camera work picked up Joshua stating, ‘why do I feel like this’ between rounds. A short time later, Ruiz inflicted hammer blow to take away the titles.

A rematch is set to happen in November or December. The return will only go ahead if Joshua feels ready for a return at that point.

It could take some time for Joshua to come to terms with the manner of his defeat after dropping his ‘0’ to the Mexican-American.

Ruiz now joins Deontay Wilder as the two main rulers of the top division. Tyson Fury is also rated above Joshua.
