Wouldn't have made sense if during this time Maul was looking for Obi in Rebels and had no clue where he was.

I hated how that fight ended, I understand what happened but I was expecting a lengthy duel and then Maul went for the move that killed Qui Gon

I didnt mind it. Woulda been dope to see a longer battle but it just showed how far Obi-Wan came along since they last saw each other. Precise and efficient as fuck
