This could also be about money too.
Based on what's been reported, they didn't do anything that violated company policy.
If they didn't violate company policy, they don't have any grounds to demote them.
So, even though they pulled them from the show............ABC still has to pay them whatever they were being paid under their current contract.
Simply because they don't have grounds to fire or demote them.
Basically, right now, they're both getting paid a lot of money for not doing anything.
So, they're probably trying to find a way to save money by looking for proof that TJ did something that would be grounds for termination or some form of disciplinary action that they could use to claim he violated the terms of his contract.
That way, they'd only have to pay one of them instead of both of them.
