We expect better from y’alllmao @ men rapping about hoeism, strippers, sex for centuries
but women are the issue for controlling the narrative
Her mom passed on 2019. Megan dropped the ep "tina snow" in 2018. She has a song called "freak nasty". Like I said. Parents have no control over their children when they are adults. Well, most dont. A child may hold their parent's opinion on high regard but it the end of the day, they are adults .Her Mom didn't let her rap a certain way or be provocative and that didn't change until her Mom died. I believe she stated so very early on in interviews.
This white knight behavior being displayed right now is disgusting and obviously rooted in the Oedipus complex.
I don't disagree with your point but what I'm saying is if I remember correctly there was an interview that she did very early on and her saying that her mom wouldn't let her do certain stuff as her manager, but now that I think about it I think it, I tbelievw she couldn't rap or dress provocative until she hit a certain ageHer mom passed on 2019. Some what. When I say industry, I am talking about the record companies. Record companies push what is popular. If you are talking about artist, all those 90's artist you name are vets. With that, they already had a fan base that will buy all there stuff. It is rare that you will see a new artist get that same push if they speak the same positive content. You will often here artist say something like " I can be more lyrical but dont no body want to hear that". They are usually referencing the younger audience. The 70-80's was a different time and music mainstream was really just coming out of new York. When rap moved to different regions, you started hearing different realitiesI could not disagree with the bolded more.
The entertainment industry is unlike any other industry because they decide what they want to sell 100%. You literally consume what they sell by watching and listening. So all they have to do to get you to buy it is to convince you that you should watch and listen.
Why is it the same industry that funded BDP, X Clan, Public Enemy, and early Pac in the 80s and 90s now fund QC, Future, and Megan? Why is it that Jay Z, Rick Ross, Jeezy, Kanye, TI only start talking that Black power talk after becoming financially independent from their record labels? It's not because the people wanted to buy something different. It's because the industry is set on what it pushes.

I feel like some things would be different if her mother were still alive...
