I heart your energy

No I'm basing my opinion off the acting, the storyline( was decent it was cool. I like how they introduced the 90s era in there). I dont know if they were rushing the movie so they could get her placed in so they can move on to the next stage, but I honestly dont think this movie was ready to be released. Like the only good thing about this movie was Samuel and some of the visuals. I have a certain standard when it comes to these types of movies and i left the movie theatre feeling like I wasted my time. I know this movie I'm about to mention has Nothing To do with Captain Marvel but when i watched Alita, I was lit af. I didnt feel like that leaving captain marvel. Even the fighting scenes in it was whack to me. I dont dislike it ALL. there are some things that I do like. But overall the movie, to me is trash.
I understand that Captain Marvel needed her own movie because of how significant she is in the next installment. I just wish they couldve took more time on the story and the acting and the movie as a whole. I didnt give it one star. I gave it 5 1/2. But thats still trash to me. I might be harsh because of the career field I chose, I guess. Oh well it is what it is. Im still gone watch the next one with my 3D glasses on in the middle of the rows like:

I gotta be careful with my compliments due to my unfortunate history, but this might be the best poster in this thread...

Are y'all reading this gold?

I agree that Brie didn't do a great job showing much emotions outside of being a bit cocky. Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Jacson and Ms. Lynch did a really good job acting. The 1st half of the movie did kind of move slow but that is a little bit understandable due to her trying to figure out her back story.

Overall it was a solid film but a big step down from the last few movies that the MCU has put out. I'm still looking forward to the next Avengers movie though

So if we're ranking MCU origin stories/first solo, where does this movie fit?

Edited for those that didn't get the gist of the original wording.

I didn't really get this at all. I read a few people say this before I saw the movie, so I was kinda expecting it.

But you had the Kree/Skrulls outpost joint in the beginning, CM vs the Skrulls on their ship,CM and the Skrull train chase, the file room fight.

1st hr or so seemed to be moving to me.:js4:

That’s the saddest part about the 1st half of the movie is it did have action scenes but the way they were shot wasn’t really that exciting or breathtaking to me. It just kinda seemed like paint by numbers action scenes. Where as the ending action scenes were great to me.

It’s funny that I felt that way because after I watched the movie I looked at a lot of reviews and a lot of people had the same thoughts as I did.

One of my main gripes with Black Panther was the fight scenes. In civil war whoever did the fight choreography or was the stunt double for Black Panther was awesome!! But in the actual movie he relied more on the energy build up in his suit as opposed to his actual fighting skills. Even in the casino the best action sequence was Okoye and I bet it was because Danai is used to fighting scenes due to being on The Walking Dead. Chadwick and Lupita’s actions were not as fluid and didn’t look as good. I loved Black Panther but was very disappointed in the fighting scenes.

Neither were origin movies.

They both already had become who they were in Civil War

I didn't think it was necessary to put "/first solo" after origin stories because I figured everyone would understand what I meant. I'd also argue that BP is indeed a origin story since that is the movie that introduces us to the origin of the BP.
