Welcome To aBlackWeb

The young God ain't even been buried and we already arguing about recasting him and Adele in a fuckin Jamaican bikini top.

This is absolutely disgusting and disappointing.

What does Adele in a bikini top have to do with anything?

Hella random and funny comment. LMAO

Give the role to his sister for a few yrs/movies and then recast T'Challa as returned from the dead *which the character has done* and there's your out for why he looks different

Recasting T'Challa for BP2 is the wrong move
This it right here homie and probably what will happen

Lmao at shouldn’t be recasted.

This a billion dollar entity with the Disney/MCU. He ain’t the end all be all and it for this Character

Yes, but T'challa isn't a billion dollar entity. The Black Panther franchise is and again people saw that movie as being Wakanda movie more than a T'challa movie. Them letting T'challa lie and making a movie that revolves around Shuri or Wakdanda in general wouldn't stop it from being a billion dollar entity.

You don’t know the plans they had for the MCU. It might involve BP

they would have to...

Nevermind

No one is talking about burying the BP moniker. We're talking about burying T'challa, the character. Shuri can be the new BP just like she was in the comics.
Marvel comics fans would not support that. Shuri simply isn't that popular of a character and the sequel is not making a billion unless the fan boys come out.

lol The first movie didn't make a billion dollars because of comic fanboys. It made a billion dollars because it became a cultural phenomenon and appealed to movie goers that weren't even comic fans. Shuri's character in the movie was universally praised as were most of the other characters in the movie. They absolutely could make a movie that revolves around the other Wakanda characters and have it be successful. It probably won't make a billion dollars, but then again it probably wouldn't have hit that mark again anyway because the first movie was released under unique circumstances and marketing.

Y’all really are downplaying Chad’s appeal as the Black Panther, lol. You think it was just Wakanda and supporting actors that brought people to the theater?

Chad’s acting ability and regal swagger as T’Challa and the Black Panther was the main draw for people. Even though you couldn’t see him in the suit you could still hear him and you imagined him being under there. Everything else pushed it to another level which made it a cultural phenomenon and not just a great movie.

But you do the movie the exact same but replace Chad with Letitia and it’s not going to hit the same. Cinematically or commercially.

Put Lupita there though then you’re onto something.

No. Folks packed to see a BLACK SUPERHERO. Not for Chadwick. And he didn’t exactly kill the role. He’s not some great actor fam. No disrespect to him RIP

I think they should do what the comics do which was probably going to happen eventually. I don’t see how or why that would be a problem. And Killmonger don’t need to remixed

The Tchalla/Shuri storyline when Shuri becomes BP is a super dope story, and should be told over like three movies. Its a really good story. For it to happen though, Tchalla has to be recasted. If they make Shuri the BP right away, it would ruin that story.

If I remember right, Namor or Doom attacks BP and puts him in a coma. Once that happens Shuri becomes the ruler of Wakanda, which is only half of what you need to become BP. The more important part is for the Panther god, Bast, to give a person the BP powers. Shuri fails the test. Reason why is because shes always been secretly jealous of Tcahalla her whole life.

She still becomes BP, but never gets the BP power from Bast. Then some shit happens, I think Doom or Namor attacks Wakanda, and Shuri does something to save Tchalla. Something that takes alot of sacrifice, and then Bast finally accepts her and gives her the power of BP, and she finally fully becomes BP.

Tchalla eventually fully heals, and now you got both of them with the power, but Shuri stays as the ruler of Wakanda. More stuff happens, i dont remember all of it. But eventually, either Doom or Namor attacks and destroys Wakanda. Shuri stays back and sacrifices herself to save a ton of people and she dies.

Shortly after, when Tchalla goes to the spiritual plane to talk to the previous BPs for advice, he sees Shuris soul there too.

The story is incredible, and Shuris character arc is amazing.

Thats a story that the MCU will probably tell over 2-3 movies. but making her BP right away now will make that impossible.

Disney Reportedly Reevaluating Marvel's Black Panther 2 Plans After Chadwick Boseman's Death

Disney is reportedly having to re-evaluate plans for Marvel's Black Panther 2, following the death of Chadwick Boseman. Boseman's secret battle with colon cancer caught the entire world off guard, including his Marvel movie co-stars and collaborators. While in truth, the wounds of Boseman's loss are still too fresh for anything about Black Panther 2 to be of much concern, Disney and Marvel do have a ticking clock over their respective heads. After all, Chadwick Boseman was apparently set to start prepping for his return as T'Challa soon, with Black Panther 2 set to start production early next year, for its 2022 release.

THR has an in-depth breakdown of how the ramifications of Chadwick Boseman's death are now reverberating through Marvel Studios. Kevin Feige only learned that Boseman was fighting his cancer battle hours before the actor's death. Boseman apparently never gave up the belief that he would beat cancer and film Black Panther 2 and was reportedly going to start prepping as early of September, to gain back the significant weight he lost.

Not surprisingly, the teams at Disney and Marvel Studios are now trying to process Boseman's loss on a personal level, as he was as respected off-screen as he was for his performances. Lingering at the edges of that grief is the looming business of what to do about the billion-dollar Black Panther franchise, which is now without its headlining star. There's also an indication that Marvel had plans for T'Challa/Black Panther to cross over into other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, which mean entire storylines of the franchise may now have to be reconsidered.

At the end of all the dilemma and debate, there are only two ways that Disney can handle things: recast T'Challa or hand the mantle of Black Panther to a new character. Most fans are already starting a rallying cry for Marvel Studios to follow Marvel Comics canon and make T'Challa's sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) the new Black Panther.

In the comics, T'Challa was left comatose when he rejects recruitment into "The Cabal," a group of supervillains schemers whose ranks include Doctor Doom, Norman Osborn, and Namor (all characters Marvel may introduce to the MCU). Shuri must step up and take on the mantle of Black Panther - despite being rejected by the Panther Gods. Letitia Wright was both a fan-favorite breakout of Black Panther and just about the only person Marvel fans would almost universally embrace to take over as Black Panther, at this particular point in time. In fact, putting the ladies of Wakanda in the spotlight for Black Panther's sequel may be the best way to honor Chadwick Boseman, and the franchise phenomenon he helped build.

Black Panther II has been set for release on May 6, 2022.

Shit is sadder than fuck reading that. I feel they are going to give Boseman such a big tribute in this film. Im curious how they are going to write him out though. Maybe they just acknowledge that Tchalla had disappeared and have Shuri take over the mantle in his absence?

Tchalla is a huge part of Marvel Comics and they could of course just replace some of his storylines with Shuri instead, but I wouldnt be mad if they eventually recasted Tchalla. I dont think they should do it right away though. Let Shuri take over, then bring Tchalla back with a new actor after some time had passed.
