It seem like when lurk posted that quote it went over ya head. Although it's a lil Wayne line I posted a Bible passage that's related to this topic and the origin. Would it be better if I posted what Buddha and Confucius say about self praising?

As black people who see nothing but death, and a world if people against us....those things don't fit who we are because we are not in a place for it to help.

depends on your perspective and your audience

some people would like to know its people who would help them and its good people out there that care.
others look at saying you did something good as a bad thing.

so anyone who speaks about anything ......is self praising?

if a dude says he has a bad chick....the next dude tries to out do him

but if a dude says all that he did for the community......its bad? the next man doesnt try or want to out do him and people look at him like hes bragging?

bragging means trying to impress by speaking about your accomplishments.....like getting good grades, getting a nice car and the best looking chick on the block

i think is also why alot of people are ok with OTHERS doing the work to build up the hood so they can benefit but dont want them to speak about it because it thins there handout if someone else is getting help.

their is people who say what they do to get donations.
or how about a person whio likes what someone else is doing and wants to donate or help them accomplish the goal...
or someone who dont know how to do or start something but knows someone else did just that and wants to support them.

alot of people share to spread the word or to get help or to point out a need or get people to step up.


its all about who you are as a person that depends on how you take it.

pastors ask for money and spread the word about what they do with the funds.
and some people want to know what they do with their funds.

so do some pastors stunt on others by saying they have a jet to travel the world to spread the world?
cant they just say they spreading the word?

well, its funny that you take this stance, but if im wrong, apologies in advance b/c i honestly do not remember

but werent you one of the ones chiming in on how dudes record themselves giving stuff to homeless people as a gripe?

if not, i apologize, but why record it? if your intentions are pure and the person you did the deed for is genuinely grateful, shouldnt that be enough over pats on the back from internet strangers?
