KANDY MADE THIS THREAD! Casual Racism: Is it real or made up?

Black people racism- name calling “shut up you cracka/spic” etc

White people racism- I don’t like you because you’re black, now let me create laws, and pass bills designed to oppress black people.

When in American history has this so called black racism led to laws being passed to oppress white people and other groups? Black people can hate whites all they want but collectively we don’t have the power to do anything about said hate besides name calling.

That's institutional power. There are other modes of power. What about within prison systems? Night clubs/entertainment? Life is more than government.

Nah that’s just how racism works. White cop “conveniently” forget how to restrain a black person and thinks to shoot said black person. They have an entire system in place that will make sure that cop gets off. Yet when that black cop killed that white woman in Minnesota a year ago his black ass was arrested and charged, even the police chief got fired. The point is there is a system in place that can carry out said prejudice that’s the difference. Until we as black people have that then we can’t be racist, you might not agree with that but it’s the truth.

That ain't power; that's just business. We don't have to patronize those businesses at all. Whites still control the government and still create racist ass policies that affect not only us but those very same Asians.

I'm not sure I understand what makes those two things different in your view. In business there is power: power to hire, power to fire, power to deny service, power to control the distribution of goods and services, etc.

What makes them separate concepts for you?

That seems flawed. What makes you say that because nonwhite people cannot be racist to the same extent as White people that means they cannot be racist at all?

reverse racism or casual racism (whatever the fuck that means) = hurt feelings

racism = genocide, health disparities, food insecurities, imprisonment, hyper surveillance, educational disbarment, socioeconomic neglect, brutality and police repression, lead in water, improper medical treatment and responsiveness, deadly experimental medical and drug treatment practices in our communites (tuskegee experiment), sterilization in prisons, governmental neglect, controlled and monopolized poverty, redlining, predatory loans...need I go on?

dont ever compare me calling someone a cracka or saying “ALL white people are bogus as hell” to my everyday REAL life experiences.

this whole thread is bullshit and the nerve to quote the webster dictionary? the outdated dictionary? that still refers to Black as being barren, ugly, dirty and soiled? foh

Those are not characteristic of your lived experience.

You used Asians as an example earlier, so let’s go with that for a second. Look at Peter Liang in NY who shot a black person and was actually sentenced but the Asian community gathered together and got their guy off. Based on the definition a few people gave you of what racism is, what does that sound like to you?

I never read about that story until just now. He didn't get off completely, but they did influence the courts enough for that manslaughter case to be downgraded after he appealed the decision.

At the outset, it's clear that he was sentenced very leniently based on the power of Chinese special interests. I've tried finding similar cases and there appear to be none where Black protest has ever done anything like that. The system prioritized Chinese interests over Black ones based on the power those Chinese interests had. That can happen in business, too. Where are you drawing the lines for this distinction?

You dont know my lived experiences dickhead

I know that a large number of those things you mentioned either A) targeted Black men, or B) happened before your time. It doesn't take rocket appliances know they aren't your experiences. Figure it out.
