John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Lose Baby

Even if you think what they did was weird this thread is filled with mostly men talking about how a woman should feel and what she should do after their baby died inside of her.

Take a step back from the keyboard and read this sentence again.

Their baby died inside of her.

This is one of those situations where it's not even appropriate to offer your opinion.

No I'm saying that in 20 years he hasn't been the type to do attention seeking shit like you're claiming so based on his past behavior. That's what I'm using to judge it. I mention the awards he's won to show you that him just living his life is gonna get attention let alone his wife who is also famous suffering the loss of a child. When you make a judgment of someone's character you take into account their past actions and based on his it doesnt line up with what you're suggesting. Based on that it wouldn't be fair to make that assessment and to try and force it shows you're more dug in to your personal bias than actual reality

Bruh, am I wrong or did someone in here say that the pic was probably taken by a photographer and the having a photographer there to regularly capture shit so they can post it on social media is part of how they live their lives? Isn't part of what ya'll are defending, their right to post whatever they want even if it seems odd to others and brings undue attention? I'm not a fan of dude and don't really know anything about him outside of the fact that he and his wife keep popping up on this board because of their social media shenanigans. Again, bruh, if you want to pull out your sword and shield and fight for their honor based on nothing more than the fact that you believe he's famous enough to not want extra attention, do you. I don't really care about that. I'm just saying that from my perspective, the arguments you're making in his favor side more on fanboyish beliefs than actual proof of point. We can agree to disagree.

On the second point, you refuse to actually address the questions I'm asking. You keep trying to assert that a negative opinion of Legend is wrong. That's not what I'm asking, and once again, your commitment to defending his honor when his honor isn't even really what's being questioned is part of why I used the term fanboy. There's no bias on my part. I don't give a fuck about John Legend one way or the other, but that's clearly not true for you. Since you can't seem to put aside your bias, let's take his name out of it. If celebrity A puts his life on the internet. Is it wrong for ABW poster B to form an opinion about A based on B's impression of what A puts out there? If B's impression is negative, is it wrong for B to express that opinion as a criticism? Maybe you'll be able to actually answer those two questions now that Legend's name is not attached.

You keep trying to reiterate that you dont know much about him. That's cool. But when you're being given information about him and how he's moved prior to this you're dismissing it. Expressing the opinion of course isnt wrong but when your opinions arent based in facts then you cant expect to be told you're right either. You
Cant compare a random celebrity because the circumstances won't be the same and the differing circumstances is what makes people have different reactions to 2 people committing or suffering from the same or similar act. There's a reason people had jokes about Herman Cain dying from covid while others got sympathy...because of their past actions and how they moved. It's not hard to grasp.

You also can't ignore the fact that pictures like these arent uncommon at all and plenty of people do this at the loss of a child/pregnancy. So to paint this as some attempt at reaching for attention in a negative fashion isn't based in anything but someone's already perceived negative bias...and in this situation that narrative just dont fit.

I don't know what else to say to you. I'm not comparing a random celebrity. I was asking a question about a scenario based in an earlier comment that was made, and you are so stuck on Legend that you can't let your talking points go even when he's completely removed from the scenario. There is no way you can claim to be the unbiased one here when you're so clearly invested in him.

We can drop it though. The discussion isn't going anywhere.

Some of yall are so critical. Sometimes too damn critical.

This is her way of showing everyone the pain she & and John just experienced. And there are MILLIONS of women who empathize & sympathized wit her. Women who also experienced that same exact pain they're going thru.

I dislike social as much as the next person. But when it comes to something like a mother losing a child, and wanting open up to the world about her pain...its best to just stand down. Let them be. People greive differently outside this forum you know.

My condolences to her & John.

Facts!

Ive lost 3 children in my lifetime

1 from abortion and 2 from miscarriage

you never get over it.

Bruh i didn't even know how to react when my s/o miscarried. I more hurt for her than anything.

I'm not stuck defending John Legend. You're not getting that his past and who he is is part of the reason people are reacting the way they are. So you can't just insert another celebrity and ask "Would the reaction be the same" because the circumstances would be different.

I don't give a fuck about John Legend. What about that don't you understand. You or someone else made a comment suggesting it was ok to criticize actions but not the people. That's what I'm responding to. As I've been saying all along, Legend doesn't matter. I just disagreed with that premise and was asking you about that. Yes, I used Legend in the hypothetical, but it was a hypothetical. You weren't supposed to take it literally. And then when I took Legend out of it, you still went on a rant defending Legend. I don't know how else I can make it clear that my question wasn't about Legend specifically. But like I said, you are gung ho on defending this dude even when he's not being attacked. If that's not fanaticism, I don't know what is.

Ya'll gotta relax. I haven't read every reponse in here, but ya'll are making it seem like people are calling them the devil for showing that pic. It wasn't really that deep. From what I saw, people just questioned why they would take a pic at that time. You say it's to open up to the world. That's fine. Some people might relate to and be uplifted by that. Some people might think it's distasteful or unnecessary. Ain't no right or wrong. People going to feel how they feel. I don't see anyone on here going out of their way to attack the couple. It's just discussion on a forum.

You got the answer to your question you just don't like the answer I gave. It's ok to say that You wanted to use another example to try and apply it to this same situation and it don't fit. You're the one getting frustrated by this.

lol You never answered my question. Every answer you gave was about how it was unfair to judge Legend that way or how you've followed him for 20 years or how you can't separate the discussion from Legend because he's too important to you. I ain't frustrated man. lol I'm just letting it go because you want to talk about John Legend and how closely you've followed his career, and I don't give a shit about John Legend or your love for him. You got it.

Your attempts at throwing passive aggressive insults in this really does show you're frustrated. You don't gotta be too cool to admit it. I ain't say shit about that man being important to me. You said something not as clear as you think trying to make a point and now you tried to clean it up...everybody fucks up sometimes. Here's a tip for the future though...anytime you gotta change the details of a situation to try and make your point, that point probably not as strong as you think it is.

"Can u take a pic of us while I lay on her while we weep?"

Yea that's just fucking weird

Rip to the baby though hope they cope healthily

This is some weirdo shit.

My ex fiancee and I lost a child when we were young (she was 20, I was 23). In the process she almost lost her own life. I wrote about this in another thread when one of our brethren, King of GA, lost his daughter. As my then fiancee was laid up, at no point in time did I think "lemme get a camera and take a pic of her in the hospital bed". Never dawned on me to post anything about it in the various AOL groups we were rather active in back then (this was, of course, 1996). Never thought to let random strangers into our pain for any reason. Shit, my own mother didn't even know about it until last year. To this day even thinking about that whole ordeal brings a lump to my throat. and that happened to us 24 years ago. It was one of the worst days of my life, right up there with losing my father and my grandmother, whom I just lost on the 4th of july. My ex fell apart, and after trying to "stay strong" for her, eventually I fell apart as well.

I don't understand this nigga...

To decide to take a pic of your wife while going through such a terrible loss, and to post all about it on social media is, in my opinion, detestable. The only reason to do this is for attention and likes from strangers. He did it for publicity and for no other reason, and for that he's a piece of shit, and if she agreed to it, they're both pieces of shit. At that point does your fame even matter? Nigga lost a child and said "This'll go good on my IG".

FOH... Nigga either wanted attention from, or the sympathy of, strangers in an effort to look "vulnerable" for likes.
