PLAYSTATION Final Fantasy VII Remake Thread

Are you playing the game now? There is no way they could have expanded the game this much without splitting it up. They wouldn't have recouped the development costs, the game would have been long as hell, and it would have taken us 100 years to get the whole game.

On another note, the side convos you hear from the bystanders are hilarious.

For example, you see some dudes sitting at a bar and overhear them talking.

Guy 1: I had a drink at Wall Market. It was like nectar from the gods.
Guy 1: We ain't got shit like that here. The closest we got is something that tastes like their piss.
Naw I was going to get it but once I saw/ heard it was going to be 3 parts I had to put it on hold. The way games coming out now and as much gb it takes up they could've made this one big game. The game is long as hell anyway anybody that played it when it 1st came out know this and shouldn't expect anything short of it.

I don't think you understand the scope of the Remake as a whole. Like you said, the first game was pretty long. They basically expanded the first 10 hours of that game into a 30-40 hour game. There's no way they could make the whole remake in this style as one game. They would have either had to cut down a lot on how much they are expanding things or it would have taken so much time and money to make the game that it wouldn't have been profitable.

As I said most of the games like call of duty and other big games come out the gate with 70 gig plus game. Once you get it and have to update everything else it'll be around 175gb for call of duty.

Bruh, the install for this game was close to 100 gigs. This may be around a third of the full remake, so if they did what you're suggesting, the end game would require a 300 gb, and that's assuming there is no DLC or any other extras.

Even by your argument that would be crazy. That's not what I'm talking about though. I'm talking about the development costs and time. You cannot combine a cookie cutter game like COD to an RPG of this level. They churn a new COD out every year. These RPGs take can take 5 or more years of development.

I think I'm near the end of the game. At a part where they destroyed the support beam holding up the plate above the slums and it destroyed the bar tifa runs. Game is now saying people all over the areas I was just in need help after the plate fell so it's a bunch of side quests before I go to the shinra building. Says once I enter the vuilding I will be unable to come back out so If theres anything I need to do then do it now. So basically I'm just gonna do all these side quests tomorrow and head to shinra.

Game is horrible giving you pointers where to go on side quests. One doc wants me to gather herbs. Doesnt show on my map a quest marker to get them and he doesnt tell me the name of the herbs lol. I completed one tonight but just stumbled upon the quest by chance. Will YouTube them tomorrow and get them done before shinra. Fights are getting way more difficult right now. Basically out of supplies and gil and relying on tifa for heals but every time I swap to her and get AP she damn near dies so I gotta waste the heals on her. Might look up materia set ups and all that later too

Still a decent amount of game left after that.. side quests not so much though.

Yeah I agree they coulda did a better job with the map as far as waypoints and indicators for some of those side quests

Any of yall remember how long it took to run through the original FF7?
Original run time was 40 or a lil over 40 hrs

The one im currently on is 60hrs but id leave it running while cookinf and shit. Didn't have to save it and cut it off like I did in my youth

I don't want to buy a game and then wait a year to continue the story. I heard they're still working on part 2 so who knows when that will be dropping let alone part 3
You could merge part 2 and 3 tho as the original 3rd disc was pretty much a free world, allowing you to level up before going into the cavern

Sequel games are brand new games, this is just one game going for damn near $200

But it's not one game. No matter how many times ya'll say that, it won't be true. This isn't FF7. This is a reinvisioning of that game and it was meant to be more than one installment from the start. You're not paying $60 for a single game. You're paying $60 for three complete games that tell a single story the same as they did with FFXIII.

Now if you think that this game isn't a full game of content and that we're being gyped, that's a different argument, but it seems like the people making these comments haven't even played the game yet so ya'll have no idea how much content is actually there.

???? ff7 on ps1 was a whole game only reason it was 3 disc cause the capacity of cd. now you have blu-ray which is a game changer. if this new ff7 is just a remake why you selling 3separate cd's??

It’s a much more fleshed part of the beginning of FF7 that doesn’t have an open ended ending. That’s cool but to know I would have to commit to 3 games avengers style for $60 I have to pause

Because it's not just a 1:1 remake. I'm not sure how to say this any clearer. This is not the original game with prettier graphics. It's basically a complete reinvisioning of the original game.

Let me give you an example. After the bombing run in the very beginning of the game, you make the choice to go back to the base. You basically get a few scenes where you seem some destruction, have a couple fights, and that's it. It's basically just an add-on to the end of the bombing run. In this game, it's whole chapter. You actually get to experience the chaos that your actions caused and at some point you have to basically fight through waves of the Shinra military to get free. However, on top of that, there are several things that happen that just flat out aren't in the original story. The whole game is basically like that.

I guess I'm just not seeing how that's a problem. Your MCU comparison is a good one. Damn near every hero in the MCU gets a trilogy. Did you say? I'm not going to go see Captain America or Thor. I'll just wait til all three movies are finished and pick up the box set?
