PLAYSTATION Final Fantasy VII Remake Thread

Beat rufus and escaped the shinra building. Fights are getting tough man. I need to buy more materia I'm constantly swapping them off of folks depending how my party is lol. Dope having red 13 but kinda wack you cant control him at all. Makes sense as far as his equipment being his claws, but would still be dope having him be playable. Maybe he is and I just havent gotten that far yet or maybe he will be next game

Man that fight against the Arsenal was a pain in the ass lol

Just beat the game. Of the first installment. What a fucking epic final battle. So stoked to dig into the rest. That shit better drop within the next year and a half. I have a feeling they will wait for ps5 to drop though and collect that xbox/PC money after the year exclusivity before dropping part 2 though.

Overall game did not disappoint at all. It's been so so long since i played the original that a ton of stuff I had forgotten until i played it again. So many flashbacks to my childhood seeing cloud and aerith talk in the park. The train graveyard. The battle at shinra building. The flashbacks with sephiroth.

The summons were awesome. Were more usable in this game than they were in ff15. Same principal though, use your characters AP to use summon abilities. Swapping between characters made the combat GOAT as well as being able to use non active characters to cast while you fight. I would use one character, build some ap until they started taking damage, rotate and build ap, rotate and build ap, then go back to cloud and use abilities and cast spells simultaneously.

In classic final fantasy fashion, the cut scenes were GOAT. For the most part. I had a few gripes, but it was mainly just parts when the game would try to build suspense and make you walk slowly to areas where you know a big fight will happen. I get it though and it did indeed build suspense. Didnt care for a lot of sidequests but did all of them. Didnt bother with some of the Coliseum fights or any of the shinra simulation fights. Besides that I cant really think of anything that I want them to improve on the next installment. I wouldn't be mad if it was the same exact game stylistically and gameplay, just the second part of the story. So dope seeing my favorite video game characters brought to life with voice acting and dope graphics.

If it does come out on ps5 all I know is they better give me my ifrit and shiva summons in the beginning. And all my materia.

doubt if you'll see it on Xbox or pc,if so I'm gone need killer instinct on the ps store
Itll be on there for sure. On the wrapper of the game case it had a sticker that said "exclusively on playstation until at least 4/10/2021" or something along those lines. Both the ff13 series, ff14 online, and ff15 were released on pc and xbox. Ff7 is just a ps exclusive for a year. No way they're missing out on the people that went xbox.

Well if so I need that killer instinct

I just remember that Square dropped Saga Frontier 2, Legend of Mana, Threads of Fate, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve 2, Final Fantasy VIII, and Vagrant Story all within a year of each other. There wasn't no company fucking with them back then. I mean if you aren't an RPG fan that lineup probably doesn't mean anything to you, but put it like this. That would be like Capcom dropping Street Fighter Alpha 3, Darkstalkers 2, Marvel vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK, Devil May Cry, and Onimusha all in the same year. That would be crazy.

the story line in Vagrant Story was top notch but god damn the combat in that game was tedious af
