Netflix Dave Chappelle: The Closer

This special was funny. Was it was great as some of the other ones… I dunno. I was entertained for the majority and that’s all I needed. He one of the few comedians I think has never had a really bad special. The LGBTQ stuff I think is running it’s course and I think he knows it since he’s gonna take a long break. A lot of what he said is the truth tho like it or not.

Yall are hilarious with this "will they cancel him" shit over this. Man just completed a contract that paid him 10s of millions to do comedy specials which pissed off more people each time because he doubled and tripled down on the jokes...and will inevitably be paid millions more very soon for more specials. Just accept that the nigga jokes ain't universally loved anymore and keep it pushing. Some of yall in here and every lgbtq topic bitching more than the very people you complain about.

...it was primarily due to creative control...

Also if it was solely on that then... he didnt cry about it he did what was right for him and came back once he got his mind right

Didn't Dave say his breaking moment on the set was him being uncomfortable with a white guy laughing too hard at a picananny joke?

It might have been the straw on the camels back but it wasnt the it im sure Dave knows there are people that will laugh at the jokes and dont get the substance of it he wasnt new to that as a comedian/ black comedian

Cancel culture aint even real its akin to the war on christmas

Yo watching this shit high was surreal... it was funny to me personally... it might not necessarily be Chapelle's jokes but his demeanour and timing of delivery in between his little tales ... he's good with entendres too

The last part he looks like he's tearing up ... personally I think he got in his feels with the whole transgender issue... should have gone with a different material or stuff to joke about for this special...

Loved the end credits with the photo montage

4/5

someone briefly summarize the gist of the offensive joke so I don't have to sit through his shitty standup.

Not a shitty stand up and there was not an offensive joke made with malice... everythibg can be deemed offensive so...

I'm egging ppl on cuz I know there's Chapelle stans in here. I don't think he's funny. Anyway, From what I gather it's more lgbt / transgender stuff? I'll just see if that particular segment is on YouTube.

a friendship he had developed with a transgendered who looked up to him and understood comedy… and for them to drag Daph, then days later he takes his own life.. “do you think that helped?”

not even their own could embrace Daph. Yet he did. But he’s still the “transphobic bad guy”

“they don’t listen”

exactly right
